SUMMARY
- Las Vegas is hosting their first Super Bowl.
- Reba McEntire a professional actor, and singer will be singing the national anthem in Vegas
For the first time in football history, Sin City is hosting the Super Bowl, and it’s a fact that the San Francisco 49ers vs. the Kansas City Chiefs won’t be the only headline for Super Bowl LVIII. While the players will be all about ‘Play-play-play’, Las Vegas has learned how to parlay this iconic event into big crowds and bigger profits. Well, the Super Bowl will feature some prominent celebrity figures, and that fact alone is capable of drawing over 300,000 people to Vegas.
Since the Allegiant Stadium, located off the Las Vegas strip, can accommodate just 65,000 people, the rest of the crowd might not get to witness Reba McEntire. McEntire, the American singer and actress who has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry, will be singing the national anthem in Vegas. To mention some of Reba Nell McEntire’s achievements, she has given some chart-topping albums to the world.
She is inspired by the country music of Bob Wills, Merle Haggard, and Dolly Parton while gracing her fans with an exemplified experience. It’s worth noting that while singing ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ and a rendition of ‘America the Beautiful’, she will be accompanied by a deaf actor. Daniel Durant, well-known for his appearance in the Academy Award-winning film CODA, will be responsible for decoding the music through finger spells.
Well, McEntire seems to be super excited for her performance, as she revealed in a recent interview with Apple Music. She said, “I’ve been singing the national anthem in the shower and when we get in the car.” This won’t be the only performance that will give an array of goosebumps to those standing in the bleachers, as a major halftime performance will be lined up for the crowd.
The Super Bowl LVIII halftime show will feature Usher
The R&B legend and the singer of ‘My Boo’ will take to the stage during halftime with his power-packed performance. It’s worth noting that Usher won’t be holding the mic for the first time during the Big Game. He also made a guest appearance at Super Bowl XLV as he performed ‘Black Eyed Peas’. Revealing a couple of details regarding the event, the singer revealed to EW that this performance will last longer than the previous Super Bowl halftime shows.
Cutting to the chase, a regular Super Bowl halftime performance is timed at an accurate 13 minutes, while Ushers’ performance will exceed this limit and record 15 minutes. On top of that, the generational artist hasn’t quite revealed what he is going to perform, as there might be some last-minute changes. The question persists: who are the other singers that will grace the event?
Super Bowl LVIII will feature Post Malone, Andra Day, and Kaskade
In the initial days of January, the air around the town claimed that Tiesto would be the first in-game DJ at the Super Bowl LVIII. However, the Grammy-winner DJ and record producer had to drop off the prestigious list as he faced an ‘undisclosed’ family emergency. And soon, his performance was replaced by DJ Kaskade. DJ Kaskade, originally known as Ryan Gary Raddon, is well-known for his No. 1 on Billboard’s chart, ‘Hot Dance Airplay’.
It’s worth noting that he will be the first electronic musician to ever grace a Super Bowl game. There are a couple of more A-list musical guests who seem ready with their pieces for the night.
Post Malone will join McEntire in the pre-game performances. He will join in to sing ‘America the Beautiful’. Apart from this, Andra Day is enlisted to sing the Black National Anthem, i.e., ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing’. This national anthem has been a cornerstone part of the Super Bowl’s pre-game ritual since 2021.
