SUMMARY
- The NFL draft system involves assigning positions to teams based on the Super Bowl results.
- The Chicago Bears plan to trade players to enhance their position in the 2024 NFL draft.
The NFL began in 1920, but the drafting system started 16 years later. Bert Bell first proposed to conduct a draft so every franchise could remain financially feasible. Later, with the consent of the other league owners, in 1936 NFL draft began.
Before drafting, the franchise executives need to take care of multiple things. The most basic rule of the NFL draft is that the winner of the Super Bowl fixture last season will select the last in every draft round, while the losing side of the Super Bowl fixture last term will select next-to-last in every round.
Trading is also an essential aspect of the NFL draft. When the franchises are assigned to their position in the draft, the picks during the draft become very lethal. However, to improve the team’s position in the draft, franchise owners and executives must select else to trade their picks to another club.
How will trading Justin Fields help the Chicago Bears in the 2024 NFL draft?
Before participating in the NFL draft, some master calculations need to be done by the franchise executives to keep them in suitable positions. Last season, the Chicago Bears showcased an awful performance, and they need to overcome the situation this season. Therefore, before the beginning of the 2024 NFL draft, they plan to trade a few of their players in order to add a few new talents.
The first name that comes in the list of players is Justin Fields. Fields was Bears 2021 round 1, 11th pick, and if the Bears want to trade the 24-year-old, Courtney Cronin suggested second and fourth-round package draft picks would help the Bears to get a reasonable asking price for the youngster.
Trading Fields will offer the Bears some premium amount, which they use to rebuild their squad and also they will find them in a key position to get at least one back. Bears will also get six selections during the first five rounds draft, including the number 1 and 9 overall picks.

Fields clarified his intention during the 24-year-old appearance in the “St. Browns Brothers” podcast: “Of course, I want to stay. I can’t see myself playing in another place. But if it was up to me, I would want to stay in Chicago. I love the city. The city’s lit.”
The relationship between Fields and the Bears also seems down as the quarterback unfollows the franchise on his Instagram account. Although, the 24-year-old said that he did that to take a break from social media. If the Bears trade Fields this season, then the Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers are eyeing to add the player to their ranks.
