The match between the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills was an important one for sure. Both the teams exhibited excellent gameplay to have a winning start, and the Jets succeeded in doing so. The team won by 22-16 after thrashing their opponent, but it wasn’t the biggest highlight of the game. The biggest moment was a rather sad one when Aaron Rodgers suffered an injury.
The NFL star finally had his much anticipated Jets debut, but it wasn’t one he’d like to remember. Aaron Rodgers had just a 5-minute season with the team before tearing his Achilles tendon. During Rodgers’ 4th snap, defensive end Leonard Floyd sacked Rodgers, who injured his ankle while attempting to spin out.
I knew it 🤦🏾♂️

Coach Robert Saleh had mentioned after the match that the star player would have an MRI. Now, as per ESPN’s reporter Adam Schefter, the team has finally received the MRI reports of Aaron Rodgers. The reports have revealed that the veteran quarterback “tore his Achilles on the fourth play of his Jets’ career”.
After ESPN posted this update, the video of the exact moment when Aaron Rodgers sustained the injury went viral. In the video, it’s clearly visible how the defensive end was holding the Jets star. At that moment, Rodgers hits his own calves and both of them fall to the ground. The visual of him sustaining the injury seems quite painful in itself.
For Aaron Rodgers, the injury didn’t just hurt him physically but also ruled him out for the season. Those 5 minutes against the Bills were probably the only time he could spend on the field with the Jets this year.
Jets WR Garrett Wilson reveals that Aaron Rodgers apologized to him
Aaron Rodgers developed a great relationship with all the Jets players including WR Garrett Wilson. The 23-year-old star recently expressed his sadness, on ESPN radio, at the Super Bowl champion’s injury. Wilson mentioned that he went to see Rodgers after the game and “gave him a huge hug”. The wide receiver revealed that the veteran star said “sorry” to him which made him “heartbroken”.
“At halftime, I just went in and checked on him in the training room and made sure I gave him a huge hug, told him I love him. It really hurt my heart. He told me, ‘Sorry, kid.’ Just like that, ‘Sorry, kid,’ and he loved me back and that was it. Just truly heartbroken, for real. My emotion at that moment was similar to how it is now, really felt for the man,” Wilson said.

While talking about the former Green Bay Packers star, Wilson mentioned that his injury “sucks”. The young talent mentioned that his “heart hurts” for Aaron Rodgers. Garrett Wilson mentioned how the quarterback made “it through a whole training camp” and “through OTAs”. However, Rodgers faced this fate despite doing “everything the right way”.
Wilson’s statement is proof enough of the reputation Aaron Rodgers has developed with his game and outgoing nature. The 10-time Pro Bowl was looking to lead the Jets to the Super Bowl this season. However, it seems like he’ll have to wait till the next season for that.
