The NFL can be good to many while it can be quite a tough sport at times. It surely was cruel with the Cleveland Browns star Nick Chubb on September 18. The running back met a deadly injury during his team’s recent game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The medical team carted Chubb off the field right after the incident. Now, it seems like the whole sports world has poured in prayers for the star player.
Chubb and Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick had a collision during the second quarter after a 5-yard run. The RB’s legs twisted in an awkward manner when tackled by Fitzpatrick. Following the play, a teammate reached out to assist Chubb in getting up. However, the NFL star declined, shaking his head while holding onto his left knee. He then unfastened his chinstrap and turned onto his side.

The Cleveland Browns lost the game against the Steelers by 26-22. However, the team must be more worried about losing Chubb to a knee injury. Right after the game was over, people began to fill the social media with comments on Chubb’s injury. Many star athletes including Lamar Jackson and NBA star LeBron James prayed for his recovery in X.
J.J Watt wrote, “Just the worst feeling. Gutted for Nick Chubb. Hope Minkah is ok. Injuries suck man”. Kyler Murray commented, “Prayers for Nick Chubb. Never want to see that”. Lamar Jackson wrote, “Prayers for Nick Chubb”. LeBron James wrote, “DAMN MAN! Nick Chubb. Praying for the absolute best”. Trevor Lawrence wrote, “Nick Chubb (with praying emoji)”.
There’s no denying that Chubb‘s injury was too brutal. For now, everyone is praying for the NFL star to get well soon. Though it seems unlikely for him to return anytime soon.
Nick Chubb injury update: Will the Running back return to the Browns this season?
The collision of Minkah Fitzpatrick and Nick Chubb turned out to be quite deadly for the running back. The incident was so terrible that ESPN decided not to show its replays. Their play-by-play announcer Joe Buck made this revelation. “I’m told the replay of Nick Chubb getting injured is not to be seen,” he said.
As per NFL’s Ian Rapoport, the 4-time Pro Bowl has suffered a serious knee injury and has torn multiple ligaments. Due to this, Chubb will reportedly miss the entire season. Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski mentioned that Chubb’s reports will be out on September 19.

“Obviously, Nick’s got a very significant knee injury, which is, you feel for the person… He’s a great football player as we know, but he’s an even better person. So we will support him every step along the way,” he said.
It’s worth noting that Nick Chubb suffered a similar injury on the same knee back in 2015. At that time, he was attending college in Georgia. As per reports, the star player got a dislocation with 3 torn ligaments (PCL, MCL, and LCL). That injury made him miss all the remaining seasons of his Sophomore year.
The star RB must be disappointed that he won’t be able to lead his team to the Super Bowl this season. For now, everyone is expecting him to recover as soon as possible.
