The Cleveland Browns were in serious trouble after they lost their RB Nick Chubb to injury. The star player reportedly had a torn MCL during the game against the Steelers. Chubb will be out for most of the season because of this injury. So, reports suggest that the Browns have signed running back Kareem Hunt for the future games.
ESPN’s reporter Adam Schefter revealed on X that Kareem Hunt has signed a 1-year deal with the team. According to reports, the deal can help him earn up to $4 million this season. However, the details of the contract is not available yet. It’s worth noting that the star player has been with the Browns for the last 4 years. He signed a contract with the team for the first time in 2019.
Hunt’s first contract with the Browns was worth $1.1 million for 1 year. In 2020, he signed a one-year contract extension worth $3.25 million. The next season, the team decided to have him for two more seasons. So, Kareem Hunt signed yet another contract extension for 2 years worth a huge $12 million.

Now, it seems like the team has decided to show faith in Kareem Hunt once again. Browns HC Kevin Stefanski gave an update on Hunt during a recent interview. As per reports, the NFL star will make his debut during the game against the Tennessee Titans.
“He’s ready to play, he’s in good shape… How much and doing what will be determined over the next 48 hours. But I think he’s comfortable with everything,” he said.
Kareem Hunt must be looking forward to giving his best for the team. However, only time will tell if he can be the Browns’ savior this season or now.
Kareem Hunt is prepared to show his “talent” this season
Kareem Hunt has been phenomenal in the NFL ever since his debut in 2017. The star player began his career in the league with the Kansas City Chiefs. He was the Chiefs’ 86th pick in the 3rd round during the NFL draft that year. He joined the team the same year as Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. Though he signed a 4-year rookie deal with the team, he played only 2 years with them before joining the Browns.
Now, as Hunt is about to have his 5th season with the Browns, he’s all “ready”. The Pro Bowl mentioned his goal in the league is “to play and win”. After signing the contract with the Browns, Kareem Hunt revealed that he’s prepared to exhibit his “talent”.
“I came ready to play and win. I’m just ready to go out there and showcase my talent… I know what I bring to the table… I’m willing to come in and do whatever it takes just to help win,” he said.
Throughout his 6-year career, Kareem Hunt has showcased exceptional gameplay. He became the rushing yards leader in his rookie year itself. Till now, the NFL star has 31 rushing TDs for 4,025 yards with an average of 4.5. Hunt also has 211 receptions and 17 receiving TDs for 1,806 receiving yards.
The Cleveland Browns must be expecting Kareem Hunt to be at his best this season. If he succeeds in leading the team to the Super Bowl, he might secure yet another contract extension. For now, he must be focusing on the game against the Titans.
