Jalen Hurts creates NFL history as he becomes the highest-paid athlete in the league. However, none of it would have been possible without his agent Nicole Lynn. However, it was fate that brought the two together. Although he was close to graduation, Hurts did not have an agent until very late. However, one fine day, he received a direct message from Nicole Lynn.
In the message, Lynn offered to be his agent if Jalen Hurts was still available. Fortunately for both, Jalen was available and picked Lynn as his agent. But not only that, according to sports journalist Venessa Richardson, Hurts has an all-female management team. While Nicole Lynnn is his agent, Rachel Everett is in charge of his marketing, Jenna Malphrus handles his management, and Chantal Romain and Shakeemah Simmons-Winter take care of his communications.
Nicole Lynn sent Jalen Hurts a “hail mary” Instagram DM after his college career ended:

“Hey, have you picked an agent? If not, I’d love to link.”
Hurts then signed with her, and Lynn has now made him the highest-paid player in NFL history (5-yr, $255M).

Nicole got her start in the NFL in 2015. The law graduate from the University of Oklahoma served as an intern for the NFL Players Association. The 34-year-old became the first-ever female sports agent for PlayersRep. She was also the first African-American woman to represent a player (Quinnen Williams) who was an NFL draft pick. And, as previously mentioned, she started representing Hurts in 2020.
Fans may wonder why Nicole Lynn becomes very important in this matter. For those who are unaware, a sports agent has to negotiate the contract for the athlete. Hence, Nicole is responsible for Hurts’ massive contract. So what is the duration of his contract and how much money will the NFL quarterback earn? Let’s find out.
Jalen Hurts signs a massive $255 million contract extension
According to a report from Fox Sports, Jalen Hurts will sign a 5-year contract extension with The Philadelphia Eagles. The report adds that Hurts’ contract is worth $255 million and the athlete is set to receive a guaranteed sum of $180 million. It is a massive sum of money for the 24-year-old athlete and no one can argue against it. Judging by the season he had, Jalen certainly deserves the amount.
In the 2022-23 season, Hurts led The Philadelphia Eagles to Super Bowl 57. Unfortunately, they lost the game to the Kansas City Chiefs 35-38. In the season, Jalen amassed 3,701 yards, had 22 touchdowns and registered 6 interceptions, and had an average quarterback rating of 66.4, which was the 4th best in the league. He was picked by The Eagles in the 2020 NFL drafts and offered a contract worth $6 million.

Hurts’ rookie contract was for four years and he was going to be a free agent in 2024. Hence, with just one year left in his contract, The Eagles just could not risk Jalen walking away as a free agent and secured his services for 5 more years. From a 4-year contract worth 6 million to potentially earning $51 million per season, Jalen’s journey will certainly inspire a lot of young athletes to keep pursuing their dreams.
