Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou is all set to face off against legendary boxer Tyson Fury in a 10-round boxing match. This highly lucrative showdown is scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on October 28. Ngannou has admitted that he will be earning more from this fight than he has earned in his whole UFC career. Reportedly, the heavyweight will take home around $10 million for the bout against Fury.
While many believe that Fury, being one of the greatest heavyweights of the current time, will destroy Ngannou in their boxing match, former Heavyweight Champion Mike Tyson feels that the MMA fighter can put up a tough fight for Fury.
Considered one of the toughest fighters to have existed, Tyson has been training with Ngannou for a month now and is really impressed with the heavyweight fighter’s performance. Recently, Tyson posted a video on his Instagram where he was training with Ngannou. ‘Iron Mike‘ captioned the video, “I am not easily impressed, but @francisngannou knows how to box. This is what dedication looks like.”

These words coming from the legend himself definitely float the idea that the Cameroonian MMA fighter Ngannou may surprise one and all on October 28. Although this is his debut inside the boxing ring, one must remember that he is not at all new to the world of combat sports. He has made a name for himself because of his insane punching power.
While crossover fights are not really known for upsets as the professional boxers mostly dominate, Mike Tyson feels Ngannou will be tough competition for ‘The Gypsy King’. Mike justified his opinion by pointing out that former UFC Champion Conor McGregor also troubled the great Floyd Mayweather inside the boxing ring.
Fans react to Mike Tyson training Francis Ngannou.
While Tyson Fury is obviously the favorite for the fight against Francis Ngannou, many believe that the latter’s training with one of the greatest boxers in the world may make a huge difference. Mike Tyson posted a video of him training Ngannou, and the former appeared to be in his element and relishing the moment, whereas Ngannou, being the student, genuinely looked like he was learning so much from the great.
Fans appreciated the moment, and one of them pointed out that this may be dangerous for the British champion, writing, “That sh*t is scary. Knowledge Tyson and Francis Power.”
Another one harshly expressed that learning something new might not be the best option for Ngannou at this age: “To be honest with you, it’s not at 37 years old that you learn a new style.” Another fan appreciated Tyson’s new role as a coach and wrote, “Seriously, this new Mike is even a better person.”
A fan commented, “He’s slow. A UFC fighter is for sure not meant to be in a boxing ring”. However, explosiveness and power are not something that the former UFC champion Ngannou lacks.
