The reigning AEW Champion, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, also known as MJF took down the likes of NJPW‘s Hiroshi Tanahashi at Forbidden Door 2023 and defended his title in astounding fashion.
MJF defeated Jon Moxley at AEW Full Gear in November, last year to win the prestigious championship for the first time in a bloodied match. Since then, he has proved to be a dominant champion and a charismatic persona, even after being a heel.
Thus, the Triple Crown and Grand Slam Champion, Hiroshi Tanahashi challenged MJF for a match at AEWxNJPW 2023 Forbidden Door. Consequently, the AEW Champion was also quick to accept the challenge and put his title on the line.
Thus, the build-up of the match was decent and MJF eventually managed to record a clean pinfall over Tanahashi after hitting him with his trademark Dynamite Diamond Ring. Consequently, without waiting further, the AEW Champion quickly left the Scotiabank Arena in order to catch his flight.

While leaving the stadium, he decided to address his win over Hiroshi Tanahashi. Posting a clip on his official Twitter account with the caption saying “Out forbidden door, never again”, he said “And just like that, I’m out of here. Beat your boy legend Tanahashi, real shocked. I’m on my way to my flight douches.”
Nevertheless, it’s fair to say that Maxwell Jacob Friedman has been following his kayfabe exceptionally. The 27-year-old never fails to live in his gimmick even in his normal day-to-day life.
MJF mocks Hiroshi Tanahashi on social media with a scheduled post
While MJF was squaring off against Hiroshi Tanahashi at the AEWxNJPW 2023 Forbidden Door, a tweet from his official account caught the attention of pro wrestling fans. In the tweet, Friedman affirmed that he would have defeated the Japanese wrestling by the time the tweet gets posted. However, that was not the case.
“Lol. I scheduled this tweet cuz Ik I’ll have beaten the “Ace” by now. Legend my as*” the AEW Champion wrote in the scheduled tweet.

The comment section of the tweet quickly caught fire as the match was still going on. Some fans stated that he might have scheduled the post a bit earlier than the planned time. However, on the flip side, few regarded it as the “Tweet of the Year” and even called the AEW Champion a GOAT. To be apt, the tweet was around 11 minutes earlier.
