Michael Bisping takes jibes at Donald Cerrone’s manager while talking about how much money Dustin Poirier has made in his last two fights against Conor McGregor.
“I know that Donald Cerrone came out recently and said that he didn’t get a “red panty” night. Well, in that situation, I’m sure Dustin Poirier got a great manager.” Bisping said.
Recently, Donald Cerrone claimed that all the hue and cry about “red-panty night” is but merely a set of fancy words, and he took home what he was always getting paid even for the McGregor fight.
Cowboy Cerrone: I was only paid $200k to fight Conor McGregor in a PPV that did 1.3M buys

“I would always sign, which is unheard of, eight-fight deals… I’m locked into that. It’s not like three fights in, I can be like, ‘Time to renegotiate… because I’m fighting Conor!’ No, you still have four more fights on your contract… Everyone’s like, ‘Red panty night, you got paid!’ No, I didn’t. I got paid what I always got paid.” Cerrone said in a conversation with Dale Brisby’s podcast.
Michael Bisping discusses the possibility of Dustin Poirier retiring if he loses at UFC 299
Dustin Poirier is scheduled to take on Benoit Saint-Denis in his next fight at UFC 299 later this month. The former interim lightweight champion will step inside the cage on the back of a brutal KO loss against Justin Gaethje.
Having fought for the title twice and at the final turn of his MMA career, Michael Bisping believes that Dustin Poirier might hang up the gloves if he loses at UFC 299.
“If he goes out there and he loses the same way he loses to Gaethje, then maybe he does. The reality is, for Dustin Poirier, he’s made a lot of money. He’s done it all. Granted, he hasn’t been the undisputed champion, but if he loses to Benoit Saint-Denis, maybe that’s not in his future, maybe that’s just him coming to terms with it and saying, ‘you know what, I turned my life around, I’m a kid from New Orleans, I have done incredible things, I have made incredible amounts of money, I have traveled the world. I have got the respect of the fight community.'” Bisping said.
He further continued. “He’s got his own goddam hot sauce. Apparently, that makes him a ton of money. The three fights with Conor McGregor certainly, the last two, he would have got paid handsomely for it.”
Dustin Poirier might be 35, but he has shown no signs of slowing down. Even in the loss against Gaethje, Poirier did not look like he was out of the fight at any point before the head-kick KO.

As Bisping pointed out, assuming he loses at UFC 299, a lot will depend on how he loses at the PPV. However, Poirier doesn’t look like someone who will hang up his gloves on the back of a loss.
