With that said, it is a notable feat regardless and one that will certainly help expand the professional horizons of the fighter. Although he is a well-known name in the UFC already, being known outside it will also be a plus.

Fans react to Sodiq Yusuff voice acting on a Disney+ show
For the most part, it is quite rare that an African, let alone a Nigerian fighter lands a role in a movie or a TV series. Other than Sodiq Yusuff, Kamaru Usman’s role in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ was the only other such involvement from a Nigerian UFC fighter. When branching out to African fighters, we can also include former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou who appeared in the 9th installment of the Fast and Furious franchise.
Over the years, we have seen a significant number of UFC stars appear in Hollywood. In a list that has grown tremendously over the years, we have seen some big stars make the jump from the Octagon to the big screen. As such, other notable names that have made it to Hollywood include Georges St-Pierre, Ronda Rousey, Michael Bisping, Donald Cerrone, Tyron Woodley, Tito Ortiz, and most recently, Conor McGregor.
Notably, Sodiq Yussuf’s new endeavor garnered a lot of positive comments online. Hearing news of the UFC fighter appearing on Nigerian-centered media, made it even more special. As such, fans wrote, “The man’s got legit charisma, always nice to see people branch out”, and “Yusuff appears to be one of the good guys in the sport. Cool stuff.” Additionally, popular MMA analyst Luke Thomas also posted on the same on Twitter/X.
Similarly, the fighter also received praise from fellow UFC fighters and experts as well. Considering the massive following Ilia Topuria has also garnered recently, many fighters could be seen making moves outside the Octagon.
