Conor McGregor is all set for the release of his upcoming Hollywood debut. Starring in the 1989 remake of “Road House” McGregor is said to be playing a vital role in the movie. With that said, the Irishman has also revealed some key details behind his role as well.
For those unaware, Conor will portray the villainous character ‘Knox’ in the movie. As such, he will be going toe-to-toe with the main protagonist of the film, Elwood Dalton, portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal. Following the release of the movie’s trailer, there is a lot of hype around it. Notably, “The Notorious” has further made some bold claims regarding his acting debut.
Taking to Twitter/X in a now-deleted post, Conor wrote, “I am now the highest-paid first-time actor of all time, pipping Dwayne Johnson for the top spot.” Notably, “The Rock” Johnson made his Hollywood debut in ‘The Mummy Returns’ (2001). According to reports, Johnson banked a lucrative $5.5 million for the role. With McGregor seemingly making even more than that amount, it would certainly be a record-setting milestone.
Conor McGregor shuts down UFC 300 rumors
For the most part, there has been a lot of talk surrounding Conor McGregor’s UFC return. With many rumors suggesting that the Irishman could be poised for a return, recent evidence suggests that it will be highly unlikely. In his now-deleted tweet, Conor pointed out the fact that the movie will also have a world tour.
Interestingly, the 2024 iteration of “Road House” is set to release on March 21, 2024. Thus, considering that McGregor will be heavily involved in the film’s promotion, it is understood that he will be present for its premiere. Further, considering that he will also be a part of the world tour, it leaves little time for fighting.

Thus, with UFC 300 set for April 13, 2024, Conor’s supposed bout with Michael Chandler is off the table. Moreover, UFC President Dana White also disregarded McGregor’s New Year’s Eve announcement, significantly delaying the 35-year-old’s return to the Octagon. Thus, it is expected that the former double champ will be available by July, at the earliest.
Fans have praised Conor McGregor’s acting in the upcoming movie
As mentioned previously, the recently released trailer for the movie has garnered a lot of buzz. Owing to a brief introduction to Conor McGregor and his role in the movie, fans have been left very impressed. With the movie expected to be an intensely action-packed blockbuster, many are eagerly awaiting what’s to come.
Notably, the UFC fighter has revealed that he has done all his stunts by himself. Further, he also hinted towards a scene requiring him to hold on to a speeding boat via the anchor. As for the trailer itself, Conor can be seen making his way into an establishment looking for the main protagonist. After instigating a scuffle, the notorious Knox proceeds to headbutt Elwood Dalton.
In the rest of the footage that has been released, Conor’s menacing presence is a joy to behold. Thus, the MMA community gave their props to the fighter, who has had a long time away from the sport. Despite being out of action for a long time, McGregor’s acting chops have seemingly won the fans over. All things considered, it is a big year for the Irishman and hopefully, a fruitful one.
