Venturing into the realm of social media, fight fans poured out their opinions on the subject. Remarkably, certain MMA-centric pages expressed a fervent belief that Jason bore a remarkable resemblance to none other than the UFC middleweight sensation, Abus Magomedov.
It’s worth highlighting that the two protagonists have undergone substantial transformations throughout the course of the game’s development. However, no such information about the character being inspired by Abus has been provided by the developers. So, it will be safe to say that these are just speculations from the fans after seeing the uncanny similarities between the game character and the UFC fighter.
Who is Abus Magomedov and what is his MMA record?
Abus Magomedov’s journey to the UFC was a lengthy one. Starting out in the regional scene in Germany, he ventured through various promotions before finally reaching the pinnacle of mixed martial arts. Surprisingly, Magomedov didn’t secure a UFC contract through Dana White’s Contender Series. The 32-year-old, hailing from Dusseldorf, accumulated 29 professional fights before earning the opportunity to step into the Octagon.
Upon signing with the UFC, Magomedov faced setbacks with a couple of fight cancellations, leaving him on the sidelines for nearly a year. However, his UFC debut eventually arrived at UFC Fight Night: Gane vs. Tuivasa.
Without wasting any time, Magomedov made a significant impact. In just 19 seconds, he delivered a devastating front kick and a flurry of punches, securing a knockout victory over his opponent, Dustin Stoltzfus. This rapid victory catapulted Magomedov into the spotlight as a middleweight contender, marking the fourth-fastest finish for a UFC debut in middleweight history.
However, in his very next contest, he had to face the new UFC Middleweight Champion, Sean Strickland, who defeated Magomedov by a TKO in the second round. In his last fight in November 2023, Abus lost to Caio Borralho via unanimous decision.
