LeBron James recorded 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists at the 2024 All-Star game
Ahead of the 2024 All-Star game, LeBron James made it clear that he’s had his time to shine during such occasions. He told the crew of Inside the NBA that he doesn’t have any intention of winning any more All-Star MVPs unless it were to happen. Right now, James is a 3x All-Star Game MVP. James was bombarded with a bunch of questions regarding injuries and retirement as well.
During the press conference, James addressed his thoughts on retirement saying, “I have not mapped out how many seasons I have left; I know it’s not that many.” He also stated that he does not know what the future holds for him, whether he will be with the Lakers before hanging up his jersey or not. The 4x NBA Champion mentioned being on the fence on whether he wants a farewell tour or not.
Unfortunately, James has been receiving treatment for a left ankle peroneal tendinopathy injury ever since the All-Star break commenced. He was diagnosed with the injury in December 2023, but he has been playing through it. Before the All-Star Game, he said, “I won’t be playing the entire game tonight for sure, I’ll get out there, run around with the young guys for a little bit, and then shut it down at some point.”
Ultimately, LeBron James only played for 14 minutes while recording 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Team LeBron ended up losing against Team Giannis 186-211. Karl-Anthony Towns led the Western Conference team with 50 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. Three members of Team Giannis have over 30 points each with Damian Lillard winning the MVP Award.
