Chris Jericho is among the few pro wrestlers who have been equally successful both in WWE and AEW. The 52-year-old had an iconic career in the Stamford-based promotion and is performing similarly in Tony Khan’s company ever since joining it in 2019.
Over the years, All Elite Wrestling has emerged as WWE’s biggest rival promotion, and both companies recently had a Tuesday Night War. This battle took place on October 10, as NXT and Dynamite were aired on the same day.
Despite a lot of efforts from Tony Khan, the Triple H-led promotion won the ratings battle with flying colors. But Jericho has issued a warning to his former workplace amid their win, as he feels that the Jacksonville-based promotion delivered a better product.
Chris Jericho, speaking with ‘The Messenger’ with regards to NXT beating AEW in the ratings last week, continued to say: “So, [WWE] don’t get too far up your own ass because you didn’t do that good of a job as far as crushing us. The veteran shared this during his recent conversation with ‘The Messenger’ as he talked about Dynamite’s loss to NXT. Y2J said, “So, [WWE] don’t get too far up your own a*s because you didn’t do that good of a job as far as crushing us. And our show was better than theirs, quite frankly. So, it doesn’t bother me.”
It must be noted that All Elite Wrestling suffered a loss by a ratings margin of over 300,000 in the October 10 war. But Chris Jericho has still shared this strong statement, and it seems like he’s pretty confident that the Tony Khan-led promotion will defeat WWE whenever the companies go to war again.
Can AEW beat WWE in the next ratings battle?
WWE may have won the recent ratings battle against Dynamite, but Tony Khan’s company will have the opportunity to avenge this loss next month. The two pro wrestling promotions will once again go one-on-one against each other on Friday, November 17, 2023.
During the next round of the war between the Triple H-led promotion and AEW, Collision will be up against SmackDown. In the highly anticipated next chapter of this fight, Friday Night SmackDown will be held in Evansville, IN. On the other hand, the Jacksonville-based promotion will organize its show in Los Angeles, CA.
The next (confirmed) time that WWE & AEW will go head-to-head with live-programming.

As the two pro wrestling brands are set to fight it out for rating supremacy again, it remains to be seen how the match card will be. Moreover, it’ll be interesting to see if the Tony Khan’s company can defy the odds to come out on top in the battle against the Stamford-based promotion.
