WWE and AEW went to war on Tuesday, as NXT and Dynamite were aired on the same day after a long time. The cards for both shows were stacked, and fans got to witness some of the best television hours in recent memory on the October 10 shows of the two promotions.
In what initially seemed to be a close contest between the companies, the Triple H-led promotion was able to beat Tony Khan’s company by a decent margin. As per Wrestle Features, NXT generated ratings of 921,000, whereas the ratings for AEW’s special edition of Dynamite were recorded at 609,000.

As Tony Khan’s company lost to the Stamford-based promotion by a margin of over 300,000, fans praised WWE. The audience even hailed Shawn Michaels as the “Goat Booker” after his show was able to win Tuesday’s war convincingly.
Saying that Mr. WrestleMania is the greatest booker of all time, a fan from the audience wrote, “Shawn Michaels is GOAT booker!” “The better product won,” another member of the WWE universe said while referring to NXT as the brand offering a better product. (Via: X)
While most of the fans were praising the yellow brand for coming out on top, others had different opinions. Some fans said NXT had to call The Undertaker and John Cena to win their battle with AEW.
Whatever might be said about the shows now, WWE generated higher ratings. By coming out with flying wings in Tuesday’s battle, the Stamford-based promotion has also made a strong claim to being the superior pro wrestling promotion.
Tony Khan lashes out at Shawn Michaels after losing Tuesday’s war
Fans might be referring to Shawn Michaels as the better booker, but it seems that Tony Khan didn’t like it. The promotion’s president lashed out at The Heartbreak Kid after NXT defeated AEW Dynamite on Tuesday.
As the WWE universe called Mr. WrestleMania the greatest booker, Khan took a dig at everyone saying it. The 41-year-old took to his X handle to share his take on Shawn being called the GOAT booker. It was obviously something Michaels won’t really feel happy to read.
Tony claimed that this week’s Dynamite destroyed all chances Shawn Michaels had at winning ‘Booker of the year’ award. The AEW CEO wrote, “Actually I’m pretty sure that last night blew whatever chance he had at winning that award.”

Tony Khan might have said that Michaels doesn’t have a chance, but it’s true that AEW lost this week’s war. But the rivalry these brands worked in favor of fans, as they got to witness iconic appearances on weekly television. Will we get to see such competitions in the future, too? Only the future knows the real answer.
