Ulrich, who played as an offensive guard for the Indianapolis Colts and won the Super Bowl back in 2007. However, amid the tragic incident, there has been a hopeful update for Ulrich’s family.
The news about Matt Ulrich’s death was confirmed by the Colts owner Jim Irsay on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account. Offering his condolences to Ulrich’s family, Irsay wrote how Ulrich left his mark on the team despite his short two-year stint with the Colts. However, the reason behind Ulrich’s death is yet to be made available.

Matt Ulrich is succeeded by his wife, Alison, and four children, Gunther, Dalton, Bowden, and Thoreau. However, on a positive note, a fundraiser has been reportedly launched to support the late Ulrich’s family. The foundation, the GiveSendGo campaign, has been created by the friends of Ulrich’s family. Till now, $30,000 has already been generated by the fundraiser.
A hefty donation has been made by the CEO of Profitable Ideas Exchange, Tom McMakin, where Ulrich used to work. McMakin has reportedly donated $20,000 and also left a message for the ex-Colts star. He wrote, “Matt we will miss you so much. You had the biggest heart. Love to Ali and the boys.” McMakin further stated that the reason behind his large contribution was because of Ulrich’s immense contribution to his success.

Following her husband’s death, Alison Ulrich posted a heartfelt message on her Facebook account. Alison wrote, “Our beloved, one-of-a-kind Matt has passed away and is in a better place. Matt, we love you so so much. You are profoundly missed. We all want you back for just one more day.” She further wrote how she wanted Matt to pray for their children, who have lost their greatest fan, coach, and friend.
Ulrich, who died aged 41, started his football career at Streamwood High School. He then attended Northwestern University where he held multiple lifting records. The American football sensation became the National Strength and Conditioning All-American in 2004 and held University records for bench press, incline press, and so on. Shortly after completing his college, Ulrich was drafted by the Colts in the 2005 NFL draft.
He was associated with the Colts for two years and played ten games. After his NFL career, Ulrich moved back to Chicago and started a sports performance clinic, Dexa Fit, in 2007. He was also appointed as the head coach at Mountain Edge Athleticswas also a partner and director at Tom McMakin’s company, Profitable Ideas Exchange. At the time of his death, Ulrich’s net worth is estimated to be somewhere around $1-$6 million.
