Yes, you heard it right. The fan-favorite Basketball legend and DJ Diesel is all set to take the stage once again in Romania. Shaquille O’Neal is listed as one of the performers at the Electric Castle festival near Cluj-Napoca in Romania under his nickname DJ Diesel. After earning fame in the field of basketball, the Hall of Fame star ventured into numerous activities like writing a book, business and DJing.
Shaq has been a DJ and a rapper since 1986, he was inspired by Steve Aoki and Skrillex in 2014 Tomorrowland and in 2015 Tomorrowland DJ Diesel was born. Though his appearances are very limited, he is the one for the crowd. Shaq once said he loves rocking crowds when he goes to festivals. The crowd is there for a great performance and he gives them great music with his blends and mixes.
Shaquille has been a part of Tomorrowland and Lollapalooza Chicago, The NBA legend, a.k.a. DIESEL, a.k.a. ‘Dubstep Dad,’ was pretty serious about his new album and the rush he gets from collaborating with up-and-coming electronic artists. He is the only athlete to have a platinum record with his first solo album released in 1993 Shaq Diesel, and has released four solo albums as a rapper, DJing has always been his first musical passion.

This year Shaquille O’Neal is performing a little far away from home, in Romania. The annual Music festival which takes place near Banffy Castle 30 km away from the city of Cluj-Napoca includes the main lister DJ Diesel. The festival will be held on July 17th-21st, 2024.

Shaq performed like a star in front of 1,15,000 people at the festival in Chicago. While talking about how unforgettable the experience of his best audience in Chicago downtown was he said, “Man I’m still trying to process that @lollapalooza what the hell… Thank u guys for one of the most unforgettable sets of my DJ career. Lollapalooza that was the biggest crowd I’ve ever DJed for.“

His passion as a DJ helped him build a better relationship with his son Myles O’Neal, who is working to be a successful DJ himself. During a recent interview, he opened up how they trade songs and also practice together. Shaq once said, he is jealous of how good his son is with the music and his DJ hair, and he lacks the hair.
The 51-year-old DJ once compared the energy and enthusiasm of the crowd in a concert to that of a basketball game. He said the atmosphere is too similar and takes him back to the Game 7 energy. The CO2 and the crowd of hundreds of happy people and performing in front of them is very exciting. The 7-foot star, considered the biggest DJ in the world with sold-out shows and tours like ‘Shaq’s Fun House‘ made it to the US Grand Prix last year as a DJ and presenter.
