The Cleveland Cavaliers have shown a sudden interest in recruiting Miles Bridges to their roster. As many NBA fans will be aware, last season didn’t go too well for the Cavs. Despite the addition of Donovan Mitchell and securing the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference, they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks.
As we have seen in the past, almost every contending team that falls short of its goals to win an NBA championship looks to make some changes to its roster. Despite all the problems that Miles Bridges is going through, the Cavs seem to think he will be a difference-maker for them. That said, let us take a closer look at the situation and find out more.
Miles Bridges also received an offer from the Charlotte Hornets
Fans might be aware that Bridges is a member of the Charlotte Hornets. He missed the entirety of last season after having been arrested. Reports emerged that he pled guilty to charges of domestic violence. As a result of this crime, he was unable to suit up for his team. Nonetheless, he is now released on probation and the Cavs have made him an offer.

Although Cavs fans might be excited over the idea of securing Miles Bridges, it appears that the Charlotte Hornets are unwilling to let go of him. According to reports, they have already approached him with a qualifying offer, making him a restricted-free agent. Simply put, that means the Hornets will have the right to match whatever offer other teams make to him in order to retain his services.
Bridges has certainly proven himself to be a good player. He has incredible explosive power and is a capable defender. There might be several teams across the league interested in adding the young star to their roster. When he last played in the 2021-2022 NBA season, Miles averaged 20.2 points, 7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. That indicates he is an all-round player with room to improve.
Since the ownership of the Hornets recently changed hands, it is fully possible that the new owners are ready to pay whatever it takes to retain Miles. Therefore, he is expected to be retained by Charlotte regardless of the offers from other teams across the league.
