Fans are not too happy with the most recent antics displayed by Joel Embiid. As many members of the basketball community should be aware, Embiid is the franchise superstar for the Philadelphia 76ers and is currently the reigning NBA MVP.
There is no denying that Embiid is an incredibly talented NBA center with a remarkable shooting touch. The combination of his size and ability has allowed Joel to dominate the league for the past few seasons. However, he also engages in questionable behavior that fans do not admire.
Although Embiid’s basketball plays are usually quite harmless to the opposition, his recent actions could have potentially injured Chicago Bulls star Coby White. Now that the context has been provided, fans might want to take a closer look at the events that transpired.
Fans have called out Joel Embiid for his flopping antics in recent times
Flopping is a problem that is slowly but surely affecting the NBA. Since the modern-day league favors offense more in terms of foul calls, players exaggerate physical contact in order to “sell calls” and earn themselves a trip to the free throw line for some easy points.
Out of all the players in the league who have built up a reputation for flopping, one could argue that Embiid stands with the best. Over the years, the 76ers star has constantly drawn fouls through bizarre movements. He tried to do the same during a recent game against the Chicago Bulls.

While flopping doesn’t really hurt anyone, this time Embiid drove to the rim and appeared to be tripped by Nikola Vucevic. To sell the foul call, Embiid barrelled at the rim and could have potentially crashed into Coby White. Thankfully, the Bulls star had the presence of mind to move out of the way in time.
Upon noticing this dangerous play, fans opined that Embiid should be punished, “He needs to be ejected for stuff like this to big and causes potential harm to other players.”

Although Joel Embiid might have genuinely tripped, his reputation seems to be catching up to him and creating a bias against him. In the event that a player ends up getting injured as a result of his flopping, the 76ers star could potentially face an ejection or even worse.
