Joel Embiid, the NBA star who was fined for making a “suck it” joke, appears to have received an invitation from Triple H to attend WrestleMania 40. Embiid, an excellent player for the Philadelphia 76ers, gave a nod to D-Generation X on October 29 during a game by taunting him with a “suck it” chant. Embiid was then fined $35,000 by the NBA
The Sixers player was informed by Triple H that he may celebrate his crotch chop as often as he wanted during the Immortals show. “Hey Joel Embiid – I know a place where you can do that all day, and everyone will love it,” Triple H said. “WrestleMania 40 is right there in Philly,” said Tripple H.

Embiid is the current MVP of the NBA. In addition, he received a fine for making the “suck it” joke in the 2022–2023 season. Embiid made light of the circumstance and uploaded a video of him doing the DX theme song. Triple H volunteered to assist in covering his costs to maintain his use of the crotch chop.
Curious, @JoelEmbiid…
If you wrote a bigger check now, could you get a volume discount to cover the rest of the season??#IllChipIn #SuckIt https://t.co/fSNS0Csy2n— Triple H (@TripleH) January 28, 2023
It remains to be seen whether Joel will accept the invite or decline it from the former Hall of Famer of the WWE. Triple H has always been an entertainer and for an NBA star like Joel doing his celebration got him excited even more.
Joel Embiid declines Triple H’s invite
Triple H himself sent out an invitation for Philadelphia 76ers standout center Joel Embiid to attend WrestleMania 40. The huge man, nevertheless, decided to turn down the WWE legend’s invitation. As he would not be in Philly during that particular time.
Embiid expressed gratitude for the invitation but clarified that he wouldn’t be in the city at the time of the gathering. He wrote on X, “Yes sir!! I would love to, but I don’t think I’m gonna be in Philly for that,” Embiid posted. Embiid’s remarks regarding being absent in Philadelphia upset some fans, but they were related to the Sixers’ travel schedule.

When Embiid was fined $25000 last season for the same celebration he told the reporters, “There’s no secret that Triple H is my guy. Obviously, DX, when I used to watch wrestling, those were my guys. Any time I get the chance, I haven’t done it in a while so I just felt like it was a good and-1. I got the ball, I didn’t even see the rim, and I felt like it was deserving of a good celebration.”
Wrestle Mania 40 will take place on April 6 and 7 in Philadelphia and it seems unlikely for Joel to make it because from April 4–7, the Sixers will travel to Miami, Memphis, and San Antonio for a three-game road trip. Thus, Embiid won’t be accessible throughout the occasion.
It remains to be seen whether Embiid and Triple H link up in the foreseeable future. But for now, it seems unlikely, as much as the fans want it to happen they will have to wait for the glorious meet-up for some other day, maybe in the NBA or the WWE.
