Shaquille O’Neal, the basketball legend is also a DJ who goes by the name DJ Diesel. He has previously expressed his admiration for Taylor Swift, the pop superstar and global icon. But there is more to their story than just mutual respect. Shaq once had an interesting proposal for Swift that will make you laugh out loud.
Within the music industry, Shaquille O’Neal is popularly known as DJ Diesel after the electronic dance music scene. He has rocked many US cities with his DJ gigs and thrilled different crowds. He has also teamed up with various music stars in the bass scene.
In 2022, Shaq revealed how big of a fan he is of the prominent musician and 11-times Grammy winner, Taylor Swift. She is in the running for the Album of the Year award for her latest masterpiece, “Evermore,” in 2023.
He said, “I would love to collaborate with Taylor Swift.” He also confessed that he is a massive fan of the whole team and he is super excited to watch them play at the Women’s World Cup in 2023.

But this was not Shaq’s first time showing his admiration for Taylor. In 2018, he surprised the singer on Jimmy Kimmel Live by playing a special video for her. He lip-synced to her song, “You Belong With Me”, and asked her to go to the prom with him.
The show then aired the video of Shaq singing along to Swift’s smash hit, “You Belong With Me.” The video was adorable and a delight, and it showed Shaq’s fun-loving side. However, it is not clear if Swift ever responded to his proposal or if they ever met in person.

But music has always been a part of Shaq’s life. His love for music dates back to the 90s, when he dropped four rap albums, one of them going platinum.
He also acted in movies and TV shows, such as Steel, Kazaam, and Southland, and hosted his own show, Shaq Vs. He is now a sports analyst for TNT’s Inside the NBA and a guest judge on America’s Got Talent and The Masked Singer.
Besides music and acting, the NBA legend is also an entrepreneur. He owns a number of 24 Hour Fitness Gyms, a ton of car washes, and also owns numerous Five Guys restaurants throughout the United States of America.
While both O’Neal and Swift have had a chance to collab yet, the fans are still patiently waiting for DJ Diesel and The Pop Icon to perform together live on stage.
