It might interest NBA fans to hear that there is no love lost between Damian Lillard and Jordan Poole. As members of the basketball community should be aware, Dame is a star point guard currently playing for the Milwaukee Bucks. However, he was with the Portland Trail Blazers for the majority of his career.
Similarly, Poole is a young star with the Washington Wizards who started off his NBA career with the Golden State Warriors. Given that both of their former teams were a part of the Western Conference, Dame, and Poole have faced off several times over the past few years.
Fans will be surprised to hear that Lillard does not think very highly of Jordan Poole and decided to reveal his reasoning. Although quite an amount of time has passed since their conflict, one might still want to know more about their reported beef.
Damian Lillard’s true feelings about Draymond Green’s punch on Jordan Poole
Lillard has been in the league for more than a decade now and can be considered one of the top point guards from this generation. As a result, he has also earned a fair amount of respect and acknowledgment from his fellow players. Be that as it may, Jordan Poole decided to taunt him during a matchup between their former teams.
“He (Poole) hit a shot, he hit a 3 and he started talking sh*t…I kinda look back like what? So I think I had like 40 but we lost at Golden State. I’m at the free throw line and he’s just back there talking. So I turned to him and I’m like man shut up. He was like make me….”
Lillard continued, “Shortly after that, we played them on MLK day and he was on the bench and I started the game real slow. He said oh he ain’t on sh*t tonight. So I turned and looked at him, Draymond is sitting next to him. In that game I end up scoring 60 points and we beat them and I just remember telling Draymond, Man I don’t mess with that dude like that but I don’t like him.”
Since Poole appeared to be taking a shot at Lillard and doubting his abilities, Dame decided to show off his true abilities when they faced off the next time and scored 61 points. Additionally, Lillard also empathized with Draymond after his physical altercation with Poole went viral.
