Before joining the Montverde Academy, he took part in the Nike EYBL and polished his skills. In addition to this, he has participated in the FIBA U-17 World Cup. Throughout his basketball career, Cooper has collected a long list of awards and recognitions. Some of these include being named Hoophall Classic MVP, USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year title, and much more.
Furthermore, Cooper decided to reclassify from the class of 2025 to 2024 and left everyone surprised. He was initially the second-overall recruit as per ESPN and 247Sports. However, when he reclassified, Cooper earned the No.1 rank in the 2024 recruiting class. The high-school basketball sensation had more than 12 scholarship offers from various colleges across the nation and committed to Duke University.

Cooper Flagg who was born in Newport, Maine comes from a family full of basketball players. His parents, Kelly and Ralph Flagg, both are former college-level basketball players. Notably, Cooper‘s mother who was known as Kelly Bowman during her primetime was a captain of the team during her senior year. Kelly and Ralph welcomed three sons and nurtured their basketball skills from the start.
While Cooper is making headlines in his high-school career, his twin brother Ace Flagg is no less. Ace is also playing at the same academy as Cooper, Montverde Academy. In addition to this, the two were teammates at Nokomis Regional High School as well.
