Brett Rypien showing promising signs in practice ahead of Green Bay Packers clash
With starting quarterback Matt Stafford injured and most likely out of contention for Sunday’s clash against the Green Bay Packers, Brett Rypien will have to step up. Matt Stafford has not been involved in the practice sessions and it looks like Rypien will be the Rams’ starting quarterback for a week.
Defensive tackle Aaron Donald has been keeping a close eye on Brett Rypien and says the latter is moving around well. Donald said Rypien was focusing on the right things and made some good throws in practice which was promising. He further added that they have confidence in Rypien if he’s required.

“Moving around, doing a lot of good things, making a lot of good throws, doing things that you want to see, helping us to get better,” Donald said. “Obviously, you have confidence in that aspect knowing that he’s going to do what he needs to do.”
“He was making some good throws at practice throughout the season, making it tough on us. Definitely, like you said, extending plays with his feet, running around in the pocket at times and making some good throws down the field, some accurate passes,” Donald added.
Brett Rypien earlier was involved with the second-team offense during training camp. He came in place of Matthew Stafford in the second half for the game against the Dallas Cowboys and completed five out of ten passes for 42 yards. It wasn’t the best performance but he was suddenly put out there and it was tough.
