Mike Perry (BKFC record 4-0) is on a roll! The former UFC welterweight fighter has found a lot of success in bare-knuckle boxing since leaving UFC. After his career seemed to be floundering inside the Octagon, Perry turned it around with some impressive wins over fighters like Luke Rockhold, Michael “Venom” Page, and Julian Lane in the BKFC. Perry has now extended his winning streak at BKFC with another victory over Eddie Alvarez (BKFC record 1-1).
On December 2, 2023, Mike Perry and Eddie Alvarez headlined BKFC 56. Heading into the fight, Perry was 3-0 at BKFC and Alvarez was coming off a win against former UFC featherweight fighter Chad Mendes. “The Underground King” is a ferocious striker and his fighting style also complimented Perry’s. Hence, fans were eagerly waiting to see the two face off.

While the bout was certainly exciting as long as it lasted, it ended on an anticlimactic note. After two rounds of exciting action, the fight was called off due to a corner stoppage. With the win, Perry also becomes the inaugural King of Violence Champion. While there is no doubt that beating the former UFC lightweight champ is a massive achievement for the “Platinum” Mike Perry, he already has his sights set on bigger things.
Mike Perry calls out Conor McGregor after beating Eddie Alvarez at BKFC 56
Mike Perry and Conor McGregor already had a face-off inside the BKFC ring after the former’s win over Luke Rockhold at BKFC 41. While their last meeting was more of a friendly interaction, it seems like Perry is seriously considering having a crack at “The Notorious One.” The 32-year-old bare-knuckle fighter has just beat Eddie Alvarez, the guy whom McGregor beat to become the first-ever UFC double champion.
Hence, it is understandable why Perry would call out the UFC superstar. No matter who the opponent is, McGregor’s fights are always a box-office attraction. Perry pointed that out in his post-fight interview as well.

Calling out McGregor, the Michigan native added, “Conor McGregor would be a great match-up. I just beat somebody he fought for one of the titles. Who’s bigger than that though? You know what I mean? There’s no one bigger than Conor McGregor except me.”
In addition to that, Perry also name-dropped Darren Till and added that the English fighter is not willing to have a fight against him at BKFC. While the Till fight may not be unattainable, the McGregor fight certainly is. After entering the USADA testing pool, the Irish fighter is expected to fight early next year in 2024. With him being under the UFC contract, there is less than zero percent chance that Dana White will let his cash cow fight anywhere else.

While McGregor was initially set to go up against Michael Chandler previously, the match-up seems unlikely at this point with the UFC President maintaining a tight lip about McGregor’s next opponent.
Conor McGregor’s UFC contract
Although Conor McGregor is currently under contract with the UFC, many may wonder when the Dublin native’s contract will expire. In 2018, Conor signed a six-fight deal with the UFC and is currently left with two more in his deal. His first four fights were against Khabib Nurmagomedov (UFC 229), Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (UFC 246), and Dustin Poirier (UFC 257 and UFC 264).
McGregor has been out of action since breaking his ankle against Poirier in 2021. At present, he is in preparation for his comeback in 2024. After that, he will be left with only one more fight in his contract. Although he has expressed wishes to stay with the UFC, there are chances that McGregor may run down his deal to pursue other opportunities.
