Ferrari once saw their team soaring in the front as they won race after race. Not too long ago, they also celebrated their 800th podium in Formula 1. The team has seen years of success with different drivers. Michael Schumacher, Niki Lauda and now Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are some of the drivers that have made the Ferrari name.
However, with the success, there also comes talks about the brilliance of their drivers. It seems Ferrari always does something right with choosing their drivers. One of the first drivers who brought remarkable success was Niki Lauda. After making his way to Ferrari, he brought the team three world championship wins. His insights, however, were also what improved the Ferrari for the better.
After the legend, another brilliance was born namely Michael Schumacher. Schumacher, although took a while to seek his way to Ferrari, brought the team their dreams. The team had only wished for it that he made come true. The champion won five consecutive championships with the team. This was highlighted in history as the Ferrari team celebrated.
Charles Leclerc makes it among the likes of Niki Lauda and Michael Schumacher
While Max Verstappen breaks records for his team, Charles Leclerc has broken records within his team. The driver has brought the most podium finishes for his team so far. Carlos Sainz however, has stayed consistent but brought in only points with no podiums or wins. Leclerc has also challenged Verstappen openly at the race when he overtook the lead from the champion for a few laps.
But with this success, Charles Leclerc is seeing himself make some history. The driver has now made it between two legends, Niki Lauda and Michael Schumacher. The Monegasque has recorded 23 pole positions for his Scuderia team. This also marks him breaking the record of the late ex-driver Lauda who has 20 pole positions with the red, Shell team.

And while Leclerc can sit back and add another success to his list of celebrations during his summer break, the same cannot be said about Carlos Sainz. Although the driver has achieved quite a lot of success in the Formula 1 sport, his time at Scuderia Ferrari has not been adequate. The Spaniard has struggled to win races or even achieve a pole position.
With the Spaniard getting compared with his young teammate, Leclerc, he has been said to be in talks with other teams. Nonetheless, Sainz has made it clear that his priority still stands with Ferrari. As the summer break continues, it is only anticipated to see if Leclerc can now beat Schumacher’s record of 58 poles at Scuderia.
