Carlos Sainz did what other drivers only wished they could. The driver was seen at the All-Stars Ryder Cup 2023 in Rome. Sainz may be a fantastic Formula 1 driver but also a great golf player. So when he showed up for the tournament, it was not surprising but definitely interesting. The Ferrari driver had one of the best weekends in Singapore when he won a race at the Marina Bay circuit. Sainz pulled off the best and most genius trick of all time.
However, this weekend he was seen trying his luck at golfing. The event started with a fun and eventful celebrity face-off. Former Ryder Cup captains, Colin Montgomerie and Corey Pavin decided to be captains of each team and the parting began. The “celebrity face-off” began with Sainz being selected to play against Tennis legend Novak Djokovic and disabled tour pro, Tommaso Perrino.

The match was one to watch out for. However, for the Ferrari driver, the match was unfortunate and rather fun. He lost a 1-3 to Popert and Novak. But with this being his first appearance in Italy after his Monza race, the crowd welcomed him. Carlos Sainz won a podium for his Ferrari team at their home race and was welcomed yet again. Nonetheless, the driver was seen enjoying his weekend cheering on others, and waving to his fans.
Carlos Sainz confesses to be scared to hit someone at the star-studded Ryder Cup
Carlos Sainz lost a match to Popert and Novak after giving his very best shot. In the end, his team also lost overall. However, the driver seemed to be in high spirits and enjoyed his weekend with the fans. As for golfing, the driver seemed to have accepted that golfing may just not be for him. After getting to catch on with his tournament, he told Sky Sports F1,
”In Formula 1, I feel in control because I know I have the talent and the ability to do whatever I want with the car. Unfortunately, in golf, I don’t have that same control over the club, and my nerves can get the better of me, just as they can in an F1 car. I won’t deny it; I get nervous, especially with so many people watching. I certainly don’t want to hit anyone out there, so I’ll be aiming for a controlled shot.”
However, it was the fun that counted. The Ferrari driver will be stopping by Qatar for his next race and will once again fight for a podium or a race win. Nonetheless, he has shown the consistency that Ferrari has looked for and it seems the luck has been in his favor. Although the “controversial” and “political” statement after his Japanese Grand Prix raised some eyebrows.
