Carlos Sainz’s race came to an end with a good result. While his teammate Charles Leclerc was two positions ahead of him, the Spaniard got the team some good points. However, the end may have been more controversial than one can imagine. Sainz was all in the race when Mercedes pulled a last stunt on him. Although it did not work the best, he was left quite behind. However, he was able to get past George Russell.
But when Carlos Sainz was asked about his race, the driver was unhappy. He seemed upset and felt like his race was more controversial than Mercedes’ race. He said, “I’m happy with my race pace after a difficult day yesterday. It’s a shame about the last stop, which cost me the position. In the end, they made the stop with Charles to secure the position, while I was sacrificed a bit.” Nonetheless, the driver called out his team.

Even George Russell mentioned on a team radio that Ferrari may be sacrificing Leclerc. However, Leclerc was happy with his teammate’s results. But Sainz’s controversial statement had everyone pointing fingers at him for being political.
