WWE 2K24 is the upcoming installment in the WWE 2K series and the tenth installment in the 2K series. After the success of WWE 2K23, fans are thrilled to see what’s in store for the next installment. With a lot of hype and excitement, the initial visuals of the game stunned the fans. Cody Rhodes is on the cover of the game with the tagline of finishing the story.
The official gameplay preview has been impressive, with a lot of new game modes and match types. It will feature four new match types, including an ambulance match, a special guest referee, and two exclusive MyRISE experiences. Additionally, a deluxe version featuring Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair on the cover is issued.
With Rhodes on the cover, the game has achieved mainstream attention worldwide. Furthermore, WWE 2K24 honors the 40th anniversary of WrestleMania, the biggest and most important yearly pay-per-view event in the organization. As is common with most major releases, including WWE games, each edition offers unique content.
The game mode was previously released in WWE 2K14 with 30 years of WrestleMania. It was very well received by the fans, as it showcased several matches over the years at WrestleMania. This year also brings the same excitement, as it features 21 different matches from the past. As of now, only 18 matches have been revealed, including Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage: WrestleMania 5.
1. Ricky Steamboat vs ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage: WrestleMania III
Randy Savage and Ricky Steamboat are undoubtedly two of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. Their iconic clashes have been stellar, leaving fans hungry for more of their encounters. One of their standout matches came on March 29, 1987, at WrestleMania III. Savage attacked Steamboat as he was greeting fans at ringside during a title bout between the two, sparking the start of their feud.
The match being in game mode would serve as a great way to start the WrestleMania campaign. Fans would be mesmerized to see the attractive moveset and atmosphere created by the two legends inside the ring.
2. Hulk Hogan vs Andre The Giant: Wrestlemania III
WrestleMania would be incomplete without talking about the great Andre ‘The Giant’ taking on the mighty Hulk Hogan. They have undoubtedly inspired a lot of generations and garnered worldwide attention with their iconic clash. Their rivalry was full of fierce promos which hyped up their much-awaited bout at WrestleMania III. It was simply tagline as “The Immovable Object vs The Unstoppable Force”.
Fans would experience the unfiltered and raw experience of the match on their screens. Being one of the biggest matches in WrestleMania history, it was obvious that this would get a mention in 40 years of WrestleMania.
3. ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude vs Ultimate Warrior: Wrestlemania 5
In January 1989, Rick Rude and Ultimate Warrior were scheduled to engage in a “Super Posedown” at Royal Rumble. Warrior prevailed in the posedown, forcing a fan reaction to determine the winner. Following the confrontation, an enraged Rude launched an attack on Warrior. This resulted in a feud between the two and a WrestleMania showdown for the Intercontinental Title.
The match itself was a stellar match, with both superstars showcasing their physical abilities throughout the match. Being two of the greatest performers of all time, this match will surely be fun to play for the users.
4. Hulk Hogan vs Ultimate Warrior: Wrestlemania 6
Being the two top stars of WWE at the time, Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior edged their names in history. They clashed in what is called an iconic showcase of immortals. Hogan laid out the ultimate challenge for Warrior, putting his World Title on the line. Ultimate Warrior, in response, also had his Intercontinental Title at stake, as it was a winner-take-all for both titles.
The outcome of the match saw Warrior win the match, becoming the Intercontinental and WWE Champion at the same time. It was monumental, as Hogan was not defeated by pinfall for six years during that time. Fans would surely love to see these gladiators go at it once again on their screens.
5. Bret Hart vs Roddy Piper: Wrestlemania 8
The Hitman Bret Hart was on a roll during the 1990s. He was easily one of the main attractions in any show and was an outstanding performer. Given his in-ring skills, he clashed with another veteran in ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper. The two clashed for the prestigious Intercontinental Championship and delivered an instant classic in front of the WWE Universe.
Despite their bitter rivalry, they hugged it out after the match, which saw Bret win the Intercontinental title. Given their immense and fierce rivalry, this is a great addition to the 40 years of WrestleMania.
6. Razor Ramon vs Shawn Michaels: Wrestlemania 10
In the very first ladder match in WrestleMania history, Razor Ramon defeated Shawn Michaels for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 10. It was an instant classic that has been talked about up until now. The match was fast-paced and delivered several spots throughout the bout.
Fans would love to see their rivalry unfold once again as they hit their screens soon. The Heartbreak Kid fought tooth and nail but unfortunately came up short of winning the Intercontinental Championship.
7. Bret Hart vs Stone Cold Steve Austin: Wrestlemania 13
WWE embraced the Attitude Era in 1997, and Stone Cold Steve Austin made it popular. After Austin won the 1996 King of the Ring, he started making fun of Bret Hart. While Hart was not a part of any storyline at the time, their rivalry became more and more intense with time. They met each other at WrestleMania 13 in a submission match with Ken Shamrock as the guest referee.
Despite Austin’s heroic efforts, he ended up losing against ‘The Hitman’. Stone Cold gave a hint about what was to come with his charismatic attitude and personality.
8. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Rock: Wrestlemania 17
In what is called the best WrestleMania of all time, WWE was at the top of its game in 2001. This saw the peak of the Attitude Era as two of the most influential superstars faced each other in the main event. The Rock and Steve Austin carried the company during the Attitude Era and faced each other for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 17.
The match also saw Vince McMahon and Steve Austin team up for the first time. What made the match monumental were the promos and exciting build-up. This match will surely be fun to play for the users.
9. Eddie Guerrero vs Kurt Angle: Wrestlemania 20
WrestleMania 20 was iconic for several reasons, as it showcased immense star power throughout. One of the matches that was show stealer was Eddie Guerrero taking on Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship. Eddie successfully defended his WWE title against Angle in an instant classic. Both of them were experienced technicians, and they proved it during the bout.
Eddie’s win was historic, as fans were behind him during the whole match. Fans would love to simulate this iconic world title match again in WWE 2K24.
10. The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels: Wrestlemania 25
Often considered as Mr. WrestleMania, Shawn Michaels had some of the biggest bouts at WrestleMania during his tenure. His consecutive matches against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 25 and WrestleMania 26 are also called the greatest WrestleMania matches of all time.
In this instant classic, Michaels’ innovative maneuvers were also not able to stop The Phenom from protecting his streak. With a lot to offer from both superstars, fans would love to play this match again.
11. Seth Rollins vs Randy Orton: Wrestlemania 31
WrestleMania 31 is often regarded as one of the greatest events of the modern era. With Seth Rollins reigning at the top of the company and winning the WWE Championship, he encountered a classic match with Randy Orton at the event. The match is famous for the highly anticipated spot of Orton hitting an RKO on Rollins in mid-air.

13. The Fiend Bray Wyatt vs John Cena: Wrestlemania 36
WrestleMania 36 will forever be remembered by the fans, as it was the first ever Mania to be presented without a crowd. It had various innovative match types, as WWE taped the show before it went air. One of the most talked-about matches at the time was between John Cena and Bray Wyatt. Wyatt showcased his Fiend character and battled Cena in a Firefly Funhouse match.
It would be interesting to see how developers simulate the match, as it was a cinematic masterpiece. Fans are mostly excited to play this match in the loving memory of Bray Wyatt.
14. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Kevin Owens: Wrestlemania 38
The Texas Rattlesnake returned to action at WrestleMania 38 to face Kevin Owens. The rivalry was one to remember as Owens insulted Texas in his promos, which led to Austin’s arrival at Mania. In his first match since 2003, Austin demolished Owens and won the match, leaving fans electrified.

Rhea Ripley has been on a roll since aligning herself with The Judgement Day. She has been on top of her game and has delivered some brutal performances over the years. Mami started her championship reign after defeating Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39. The match was a brutal affair, leaving the crowd at the edge of their seats as both of them left everything they had inside the ring.
Since her dominant win against Charlotte, Mami has reigned at the top of the Women’s division throughout 2023. Fans would love to relive the iconic matchup between these two top-tier superstars once again.
16. Bianca Belair vs Asuka: Wrestlemania 39
WrestleMania 39 also showcased another title bout for the RAW Women’s Championship. The EST of WWE, Bianca Belair, faced Asuka in a heated matchup for the title as both of them went to war. The Empress of Tomorrow and Belair exchanged several blows during the match, which was liked by the WWE Universe.
The EST of WWE proved to be worthy of defending her RAW Women’s title against Asuka and defeated her. Being on the cover of the game, Belair deserved this mention and would add more excitement to the game mode.
17. Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes: Wrestlemania 39
Being the tagline of the game, Cody Rhodes tried to finish his story at WrestleMania 39 after winning the Royal Rumble match in 2023. He battled ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. With a lot of fan support, Rhodes walked into the match heavily favored to win the bout.
Unfortunately, he was unable to complete the story and lost to Reigns. Fans would be amazed to relive his triumphant effort against Roman from WrestleMania 39. The American Nightmare would surely look to complete his story in 2024 as he faces Roman Reigns once again at WrestleMania XL.
