PC players have always looked forward to performance modifications and the developers have made sure to deliver it. Similarly, in recent times, console players are looking for graphical options to enhance the overall gameplay experience.
Earlier, the console games had uniform specs so that developers could target a single platform and ensure a similar experience for all players. However, now the trends are shifting and developers offering these graphical options to console players. A lot of major titles nowadays come with at least two variations. And PlayStation‘s upcoming title is following suit.
Stellar Blade has 3 graphics options
Stellar Blade promises to be a graphical treat. Be it EVE, the protagonist, whose appearance has been designed based on a real-life South Korean model, or the focus on smooth action gameplay with striking effects, developer Shift Up is very meticulous about the game. Consequently, the studio’s first console title is grabbing a lot of eyeballs for its attractive visuals.
And now the South Korean developer is taking it a notch higher by including three visual modes in the game for players to choose from. The news was revealed by Stellar Blade’s technical director Dong-Gi Lee in an interview explained and Game Director Hyung-Tae Kim.
Shift Up confirmed that its PlayStation 5-exclusive action RPG will include multiple options that will allow players to modify the game’s performance. Game Director Hyung-Tae stated that the PlayStation 5 hardware specs enabled the team to target 60 frames per second (FPS) as the default frame rate.
Graphics options in Stellar Blade
The technical Director Dong-Gi Lee revealed the three graphical options that will be accessible at any time in Stellar Blade. They are as follows:
- A Performance-prioritizing mode that will target smooth gameplay at 60 FPS.
- A Resolution-prioritizing mode that will increase the display resolution of the game to 4K (about 3840 × 2160 pixels), for use on high-resolution TVs and monitors.
- A “Balanced” mode that dynamically locates a balance between the above two modes.

Hyung-Tae also stated that Stellar Blade will make use of some of the unique features of PlayStation, such as the touchpad and adaptive triggers on its DualSense controller. He also acknowledged Sony’s substantial technical support while the game was being developed.
It’s great to see Shift Up offer a bit more control to players over how they wish to experience EVE’s journey with different graphical options. Whether players possess a high-resolution 4K screen or choose the fastest and most responsive gameplay possible, PlayStation’s Stellar Blade players will have the privilege of experiencing the game on their own terms.
