After years of facing roadblocks in development, Ubisoft is all set to finally launch its pirate adventure game, Skull and Bones. The action-adventure game lets players take control of a customizable pirate ship, which they can use to sail the Indian Ocean by themselves or assemble up to five other players to enjoy PvP gameplay in the disputed waters.
Skull and Bones was first announced in 2017, however, it is believed that its development began way back in 2013. Finally, Ubisoft announced the official release date of Skull and Bones at The Game Awards 2023. As players prepare to sail the waters and enjoy the pirate life, players have been wondering what hardware they will require.
Skull and Bones details
It was announced that the game will be released on February 16, 2024. The game will be launched on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Besides Skull and Bones also supports cross-play and cross-progression between these platforms.
The game is available for pre-order in two editions, namely, the Standard edition and the Deluxe edition. Players who pre-order can avail of a pre-order bonus, while Deluxe editions of the game will also offer a three-day early access starting February 13, 2024.
Additionally, the devs have also launched an open beta for the game prior to the launch, between January 8 to 11. Interestingly, the open beta will allow the players to carry their progression and rewards to the full game on release.
Skull and Bones system requirements
As good news, Skull and Bones demands fairly low hardware on PC. As announced by Ubisoft, payers will need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU, an Intel Core i7-4790 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and 65GB of SSD space at least t run the game.
The minimum requirements of Skull and Bones require an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 CPU along with an AMD Radeon RX 570 graphics card and 8GB of RAM. These minimum system requirements will deliver 30 frames per second at the ‘low’ preset of 1080p. Although some older machines may struggle with these, most newer PCs can easily adapt to these requirements.

PC players must note that Skull and Bones will not be launched on Steam. They can get the game from either the Epic Game Store or Ubisoft‘s native Ubisoft Store.
