Because so much work has gone into saving the game from imminent doom, fans have adored it. Therefore, it is evident that the sequel of this game will match the hype around it.
Phantom Liberty the recent DLC expansion was a hit as well nearly being a stand-alone game. However, according to the developers, the sequel is set to be even better. The potential of using a third-person viewpoint, similar to that in The Witcher, has also been alluded to by the developers.

These leaks come from several project-related job opportunities that are currently being advertised by the newly opened CDPR North America studio in Boston and its sister branch in Vancouver. The job listing posted on February 6 shows that the developer is hiring for 18 positions. The job listing further shows that the sequel will use Unreal Engine 5.
Additionally, these openings also provide a few gameplay clues for the future game. For instance, a job posting for the sequel’s lead systems designer indicates the game would bring back crafting, and two more ads imply that CDPR intends to utilize a combination of cutscenes and scripted gameplay events to tell its story in the game.
The sequel might also come with several open-world events unlike a few in the original game for the players to explore. Moreover, as expected the sequel will have seamless dialogue and gameplay systems.
Cyberpunk 2077 sequel release date
The much anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, dubbed “Project Orion,” was first revealed back in October 2022. The developer also confirmed that the work for the sequel is in the pipeline and a team is being assembled.
Director of Cyberpunk 2077’s Quest Paweł Sasko and director of Narrative Igor Sarzyński announced on X that official work on the sequel has started at the new Boston studio that will act as its production center. They also stated that though informally referred to as Project Orion, the sequel does not yet have an official name at this extremely early stage.
According to a recent statement by CD Projekt Red, “Project Orion is currently in the early stages of development, with studio veterans previously involved in Cyberpunk 2077 and its spy-thriller Phantom Liberty expansion spearheading the project”.
However, the developer has not specified a release date for the sequel yet. It is important to remember that CD Projekt RED generally devotes more time to game development compared to others, and thus the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel might not arrive for years.
