CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the Phantom Liberty will be the last DLC coming Cyberpunk 2077. After the bad response at the Cyberpunk 2077 CD Projekt launch, Red has pulled itself back at the top. The release of the new DLC “Phantom Liberty” and fixing all the bugs that were present at the launch.
Video game enthusiasts are now itching to play the next game from CD Projekt Red. The company has started to increase its workforce to maximize the quality that they used to deliver. They have teamed up with the new studio in Boston called CD Projekt Red North America.
CD Project Red is working on the sequel to Cyberpunk
CD Projekt Red is working on many games as of now. The Witcher 4 and the other confirmed project are codenamed “Orion”. This project is going to be the direct sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. Notably, they are likely going in a different direction for this game. This game is rumored to have a third-person camera that you can toggle from within the game’s settings.
Cyberpunk 2077 had a secret ending (Don’t fear the Reaper) that was only accessible by doing certain missions and selecting certain phrases. This ending will ultimately end the game In a Space Station. Therefore, it is likely to have a space travel theme as NASA also named their space-traveling project “Orion”.
CD Projekt Red first announced the project “Orion” in October 2022 saying it’ll “prove the full power and potential of the Cyberpunk universe” and “take the Cyberpunk franchise further and continue harnessing the potential of this dark future universe.” Aside from that, we’ve heard very little about it until now.
Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is most likely to evolve like The Witcher did
CD Projekt Red Narrative Director Igor Sarzynski said the Cyberpunk sequel will mimic the same evolution as The Witcher sequel. The Witcher 3 offered a very different playstyle and gaming experience than The Witcher and The Witcher 2 did. The Witcher 3 had a magic wheel that pushed the players to make a strategy before attacking the enemy. This eventually made the game much more engaging. CD Projekt Red is trying to do the same with the sequel of Cyberpunk.
While the next Cyberpunk game will hence look to deliver a comparably improved experience as it will be using Unreal Engine 5 which gives the game more sense of realism and many more optimized settings for more up-to-date hardware, it’s still likely to switch things up differently from how The Witcher 3 iterated on its predecessor.
Some of the stuff worked almost perfectly for Cyberpunk 2077 right out of the box such as the city design, music, car designs, NPC design, and character design.
The story of Cyberpunk 2077 was also appraised by many people. With the release of the new DLC “Phantom Liberty,” the company again touches new heights as it sold over 100 million copies combining the Witcher trilogy and Cyberpunk 2077.
