Developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony, Horizon Forbidden West is the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn which was released back in 2017. Similar to its predecessor, Horizon Forbidden West is also an action RPG. The game is set in the Western part of the United States which is still on its way to recovery after an extinction-level event caused by a robot swarm that went rogue.
The player has different melee and ranged weaponry at their disposal to take on dangerous machine creatures to accomplish different tasks and explore the game. The game came out on 18 February 2022 and was released only for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
The third-person action game by Guerrilla Games is finally making its way to PC. Sony along with the developer has officially announced a PC version of the game. PC players can mark their calendars for March to get their hands on the Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition.
PC release date for Horizon Forbidden West
As stated by Julian Huijbregts, who is an online community specialist at Nixxes Software, the Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition will be available on PC on March 21. This announcement was made by Julian in a recent PlayStation Blog post. The game will come to PC one day ahead of Dragon’s Dogma 2 and simultaneously with Princess Peach Showtime and Rise of the Ronin.
Players in the PC version of The Forbidden West will get the Complete Edition, which will come with all patches made available since the release of the game first launched along with the Burning Shores DLC. The game will be made available at a price tag of $59.99, and Sony is offering pre-order bonuses, such as a variety of outfits and weapon skins.
The PC version of the game will come with several features, such as compatibility with triple-monitor PC gaming stations and ultra-wide support for resolutions of 21:9, 32:9, and 48:9.
The PC version of the game will come with support for a wide range of controllers in addition to a mouse and keyboards. Those playing with a DualSense controller will be able to feel the impact during the fights thanks to the haptic feedback on the controller. It has also been verified that Steam Input support exists which will enable players to remap and personalize their game controllers to their preference.
The PC requirements for Horizon Forbidden West have not been made public, however, Nvidia has confirmed that the game will feature DLSS 3, which will enable PC players with graphics cards from the RTX 40 series to get greater frames per second. As revealed by the recent blog post Horizon Forbidden West will also come with support for Intel’s XeSS and AMD’s FSR technologies.
