SUMMARY
- Fortnite is highly known for its collaborations with franchises, often bringing skins and emotes from them.
- Fortnite's latest collaboration in the works might be with the indie hit, Binding of Isaac.
By now, Fortnite and crossover is not something new, or surprising, especially looking at the game’s collaboration catalog over the past two months. It seems like another Fortnite crossover may be on the cards. The latest news suggests Fortnite may soon have a cross-over with an indie game.
Fortnite maker Epic Games has been on a mission to create its own gaming multiverse with its collaborations in recent times. The battle royale has collaborated with games of various genres to introduce new gaming modes within their realm. These include LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing.
Fortnite to collaborate with Binding of Isaac
Recent rumors suggest that Fortnite will soon see a crossover roguelike video game The Binding of Isaac. The game is designed by indie developers Edmund McMillen and Florian Himsl in 2011. It is one of indie gaming’s biggest success stories, having received overwhelming popularity on its debut. It is in fact one of the best roguelike games out there.
The Binding of Isaac creator Edmund McMillen recently shared a tweet that hinted that a Fortnite collaboration with The Binding of Isaac may be on the cards. The tweet was actually a reply to a fan, who questioned about a Fortnite crossover.

In the tweet, Edmund revealed he had been in talks with Epic Games about bringing the indie game to Fortnite. Although he did not reveal many details about what the crossover would include, he did suggest that the discussions were going on. Notably, the crossover with The Binding of Isaac will not be Fortnite’s first indie game crossover. It has previously collaborated with Among Us to release a “Crewmate” skin.
The Binding of Isaac is inspired by the Biblical story of Isaac, where players were fascinated by its engaging gameplay and bizarre, grotesque graphics. It lets players enjoy a rogue-like twin-stick shooter having Biblical themes. The game also has a remake titled Binding of Issac: Rebirth. The sequel was particularly successful and went on to sell millions of copies. It was also later ported to several consoles and mobile devices following its success.
Mewgenics release date
The devs have long confirmed that The Binding of Isaac is officially over. However, they have also been reportedly working hard on their newest game. It is believed to be in development for over a decade now. Edmund’s next game, titled Mewgenics, is based on a similar roguelike approach just like its predecessor.
The maker has highly spoken about Mewgenics. He claims that the game will be “seen as his best work” once it is launched. Besides the developer also said that his upcoming project is set to include “hundreds of hours of gameplay.” Mewgenics is expected to launch sometime during 2024.
Fortnite is looking at adding more and more offerings to its rich library of third-party characters and content within the battle royale area. Fortnite recently also collaborated with Metal Gear Solid, introducing skins based on Solid Snake and Raiden to the game.
If other rumors are to be believed, Fortnite players would soon get Family Guy’s Peter Griffin to Fortnite following years of speculation. Rumor also has it that the game is planning to collaborate with anime like Jujutsu Kaisen and Naruto.
