Destiny 2 has kick-started its new season, Season of the Wish. Notably, this is the last season of Lightfall before the next expansion titled ‘The Final Shape’ kicks in. Even before release, the devs had announced countless modifications and changes.
There have been a host of changes as well as additions that Bungie has planned for Lightfall’s final season. The season is expected to run for three months.
Destiny 2 Season of the Wish end date
Destiny 2: Season of the Wish went live on November 28, 2023, at 9 am PST. It is expected to end on February 27, 2024, which is when the next and final expansion, The Final Shape, was originally planned to launch. However, the devs had officially announced that the expansion had been delayed by over three months.
Originally planned for a February release, The Final Shape will now launch on June 4, 2024. Interestingly the devs have taken a call to extend Season of the Wish till June. The season content will end in February as planned, after which the devs plan to offer other content for the next three months. However, according to the launch trailer Season of the Wish will last till June 4, 2023.
During a recent stream, Joe Blackburn, Game Director of Destiny 2, said, “Season of the Wish begins tomorrow and will extend until the launch of The Final Shape in June. While the majority of content and narrative for Season of the Wish will run from late November to February as originally planned, the team is adding new content available for all players to jump into until the launch of The Final Shape.”
Joe confirmed the Season of the Wish will continue as initially planned.
Destiny 2 Season of the Wish changes
Here’s a list of all the significant changes coming in Destiny 2 Season of the Wish:

- New Dungeon: A new dungeon named Warlords Ruins will be launched on Friday, December 1, at 9 am PST.
