Cyberpunk 2077 is a grand game, making use of some of the best-in-class features, and tech. The developer CD Projekt Red has made sure not to leave any stone unturned to provide a top-notch gaming experience to the players. And this includes even the element of glamour.
Apart from making the character skins and build highly attractive and glamorous, the developer has also added several celebrity cameos in the game to amp up the glamour quotient. Players can find several celebrity cameos hidden around Night City.
Cyberpunk 2077 is known for its massive maps, so it is natural for players to get lost in these and miss out on the hidden secrets on the streets, including these celebrity appearances. In celebrity cameos, the makers have included traditional celebrities, as well as game developers and famous influencers from the community.
While Cyberpunk 2077 already had a decent list of celebrities in the base game, CD Projekt Red added some more in its latest Phantom Liberty update, proving that the developer is always up for offering more.
Celebrities in Cyberpunk 2077
Here are some of the prominent celebrities who have appeared in Cyberpunk 2077 so far:
Keanu Reeves
One simply cannot think about Cyberpunk 2077’s celebrity cameos, and not have Keanu Reeves as the first though. Reeves plays the character Johnny Silverhand, which is a direct portrayal of the actor, and is a main character throughout the storyline (obviously). Along with his voice, his movement and facial features are also replicated perfectly in the game.
Grimes
Another famous celebrity seen in the game was singer-songwriter Grimes, who appeared in a side mission called “Violence.” She played a brief character named Lizzy Wizzy, in just one mission that is accessible after reaching Level 20 in the game. Players will have to reach level 20 before receiving access to this mission and meeting Grimes’ in-game character.
CohhCarnage
Popular Twitch streamer CohhCarnage is also seen in the game playing Garry the Prophet, who is tracked down during a side job in Little China, Watson. He is often found on the streets giving life lessons and spewing a number of controversies every time a player comes across them.
Jesse Cox and Alanah Pearce
YouTubers Jesse Cox and Alanah Pearce also appear in their own Cyberpunk 2077 side jobs. While Alanah’s character is named, Lana, can be met by choosing the Nomad lifepath and doing a side job called “These Boots Are Made For Walkin'”, Jesse’s character ‘Jesse Johnson’ is seen in a side mission is titled “The Burning Desire.”
Hideo Kojima
Talking of developers, Hideo Kojima, the creator of Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding is also seen in a cameo in the game. Kojima is available in the Act 1 mission “The Heist.”
Mike Pondsmith
Similarly, Mike Pondsmith, the creator of Cyberpunk may not have a proper visual cameo, however, he has only voiced a certain radio station featured in Cyberpunk 2077.
Idris Elba
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty update introduced British actor Idris Elba to the Night City. He plays the role of Solomon Reed, a veteran New United States of America agent who is “apparently the only person players can trust to help them fulfill an impossible mission of espionage and survival.”
Elon Musk
Additionally, the world’s richest man and American business magnate, Elon Musk, who also happens to be a huge video game fan, was also spotted in one of the scenes in the game. Reportedly, he crashed the game studios with a gun to get a cameo in the game and he did.
While these were some full-character cameos in Cyberpunk 2077, celebrities have also featured in many in-game ads around the map. These include American tabletop RPG streamer Negaoryz, seen in a Sandblast ad, ArcadeBulls, a Czech Republic-based streamer, in the Meta Beast ad, and a French streamer, JeanBaptisteShow, in a CHEAP-AS-CHIP ad.
