Ayaneo recently released its handheld device, Ayaneo Kun. The device is similar to Steam Deck. It comes with dual trackpads and a big 8.4-inch screen. Its visual similarity to the Steam Deck is undeniable; however, the new generation hardware, paired with a class-leading 54-watt TDP and a massive 75-watt hour battery, make this device one of the most powerful Windows gaming handhelds available in the market today. The device starts at $999.
Reviewers suggest that although its features are close to any other Ayaneo models, this one is pricey enough. Users will want to think carefully about the features they want from a handheld gaming PC.
One of the most striking features of the Ayaneo Kun is the battery, which is now an impressive 75 watt-hours. The battery makes it the biggest in any Windows handheld device. It is nearly doubled as compared to that of the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally while being around 50% larger than the Lenovo Legion Go.
Ayaneo Kun features
- Display: 8.4-inch IPS touchscreen
- Resolution: 2560 x 1600
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7840U (8-core/16-thread)

- Security: Fingerprint Scanner, Camera
- Dimensions (LxWxD): 12.29 x 5.22 x 0.86 inches
The price of this device is a lot at $999. The most expensive Steam Deck device is only $650, while the ROG Ally Z1 Extreme and Lenovo Legion Go are priced at $700 and $750, respectively.
Overall, the Ayaneo Kun can be considered to be the best Windows handheld device out right now. However, whether it is really worth it for a user will largely depend on how much they are comfortable spending. Similarly, it will depend on how much the user values its bigger battery, screen, and dual touchpads.
Given that other handheld devices, such as the ROG Ally and Legion Go, are available in the market for much lower price tags, Ayaneo Kun’s frame rates are not that good to justify spending so much extra.
Reviews suggest that if one is looking at a handheld device that does not run dry in just an hour or two and at the same time that can replace a laptop without compromising on the usual performance limitations, this device is as good as any other Windows handhelds available in the market.
