This made the perfect gift for his fans and the boxing community on New Year’s Eve. He held a boxing record of 62 wins, 8 losses, and 2 draws. Declaring he would be facing long-time rival Floyd Mayweather in Japan, making the historic rematch possible. The last time the two met was in 2015, billed as the Fight of the Century. Mayweather Jr. won the bout via decision.
Breaking PPV records, the fight in itself was considered a letdown based on the level of talent and promotion involved. Now that both the Legends are past their prime in their mid-40s and inactive, Floyd is mostly competing only in exhibition matches rather than professionally. It would be interesting to see the reception both icons will get.
