Tyson Fury is all set for a historic matchup against Oleksandr Usyk. Understandably tensions are high for the fight which has massive implications for the heavyweight title scene. As such, the tensions reached a boiling point when John Fury came across Oleksandr Usyk’s team on Monday morning.
For those unaware, John Fury is the father of Tyson Fury and his half-brother, Tommy Fury. As such, he is often seen alongside them in the buildup and in their corner or ringside during their fights. Naturally, owing to what his sons have been able to accomplish, John Fury is incredibly proud of them and is often their biggest, and loudest supporter.

Thus, in the buildup to what is the most important fight of Tyson’s career, John Fury is leaving no stone unturned in making his support for his son known to the people. Often accused of taking things too far, Big John has never been one to be outdone, and considering the occasion, he wasn’t about to start now. That said, his latest shenanigans further prove the same.
John Fury got into a heated clash with Oleksandr Usyk’s team
By now, everyone will be aware of the massive scuffle caused by John Fury after Monday’s media day. With fight week festivities commencing already, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s camps happened to come across one another in the hotel lobby. Initially, the matter was limited to either side chanting the name of their fighter. However, things soon took a turbulent turn as Fury’s father got involved.
After coming forehead to forehead with a member of Usyk’s camp, John Fury was separated and sent to the other end. However, on his way, he bumped into another member shouting “Usyk, Usyk, Usyk,” before stopping to headbutt him. As a result, the 59-year-old was left bleeding profusely from his forehead.

Shortly thereafter, he apologized for the ordeal in an interview. Fury added, “Sincere apologies to everybody involved. It’s just the way we are. Emotions and tensions are running high. He was a very disrespectful fella. If you come close in a fighting man’s space, you’re gonna cop for something. What matters to me is respect for my son and he wasn’t showing any of it. He mentioned my son and that was it, so he had to have it. It doesn’t bother me ( the bleeding), it’s what we live for, we’re fighting people. That’s a regular occurrence to me.”
For those aware of John Fury’s past antics, they will know that the Gypsy man has always been capable of stirring up trouble. As such, this instance is only one of his many meltdowns that has resulted in a proper scuffle. Judging by his behavior after this one, people can rest assured that this wasn’t the last time we’ve seen Tyson Fury’s father conjure up some trouble.
This is not the first time John Fury has caused a scene
Previously, we have witnessed John Fury’s capacity for creating chaos on a few occasions now. During Tyson Fury’s faceoff with Dillian Whyte ahead of their showdown in 2022, the former bare-knuckle fighter tried to rile up the proceedings, despite there being tremendous respect between both fighters. Naturally, Whyte was left annoyed with his opponent’s father and made his thoughts known soon thereafter.
However, John Fury was arguably the most involved in the buildup to Tommy Fury’s fight against KSI last year. From taking off his clothes during a live stream to turning over tables in the press conference, John demanded a lot of the limelight during the entire buildup. After single-handedly having the press conference called off, he continued his rebellious behavior right up until the day of the fight.
During the final faceoffs that thankfully took place with flexiglass between them, John stepped in instead of his son and had a go at KSI. Although he was unable to reach or cause any harm whatsoever, his maniacal antics caught the attention of many worldwide. During the public workouts, he once again was at odds with the British YouTuber, throwing a bottle at him and getting spat on in return.
