Vince McMahon has come under fire for his alleged misbehavior with a former WWE employee. With his reputation torn to shreds, many have questioned whether he is still a married man. With that said, a wrestling legend seemingly has the answer to the question.
For those unaware, McMahon is in a world of trouble after details of his relationship with Janel Grant were made public. In the horrifying texts that have come to light, the former WWE CEO has seen himself as public enemy number one. As such, he now finds himself accused of heinous crimes such as s*xual assault and trafficking.
In the meantime, many have been wondering about the people that Vince is associated with. Whilst John Laurinaitis and Brock Lesnar have been implicated alongside him, other associates of McMahon will reportedly be fired soon. However, his daughter, Stephanie McMahon, has been touted to take up the reins of the company. Similarly, many have also asked about his wife, former WWE CEO Linda McMahon.
What did Jim Cornette say about Vince McMahon’s wife, Linda McMahon?
To answer the question, wrestling veteran Jim Cornette had some very interesting things to share. Amidst the news of this controversy, the relationship status of Vince McMahon and Linda McMahon was discussed. As it turns out, they are not divorced; however, they have been separated for quite some time. Not only that but as Cornette suggested in episode 252 of Jim Cornette’s Drive-Thru, the two also had a settlement.
Speaking on the show, Cornette said, “Since this has come out about Vince, well, why didn’t Linda divorce him a long time ago? She could be filthy rich, she’d have half of every… Somebody out there thinks Linda McMahon is hurting for money. What do you think they just didn’t do the divorce? The settlement was already made”. Further, he adds, “She would spend $80 million to run for Senate, like she is going to be a f**king senator”.
Thus, as Jim suggests, the two seemingly signed a settlement a long time ago. Further, considering Linda’s splurges in politics, the veteran believes that the settlement was a hefty one, meaning that she has more than enough to look after herself. Although it is known that Linda and Vince tied the knot on August 26, 1966, the exact date of their ‘separation’ remains unknown.
Notably, Vince McMahon once publicly revealed that he was unfaithful to Linda in an interview with Playboy in 2001. Despite revealing that he was ‘discreet’ his extramarital activities had a ‘crushing’ impact on Linda. Having been together since they were teenagers, Vince’s actions likely led to the 75-year-old wanting to go her own way.
