Bray Wyatt joined WWE in 2009 and was a part of the promotion for nearly a decade. During his time in the Vince McMahon-led company, he gained a lot of fame and earned several accomplishments to his name.
Though Wyatt was among the top names in the promotion, Vince McMahon didn’t think twice before embarrassing him in front of another former WWE Superstar, Matt Hardy.
Hardy while speaking on his podcast The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy narrated how Vince McMahon once humiliated Bray Wyatt in front of him after Wyatt failed to execute McMahon’s orders successfully.
Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt were tag team partners and even won the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship. Once after their tag team match, when they returned backstage, McMahon charged at Wyatt and asked him what was wrong with him. He stated that Wyatt was not in shape and asked whether he could do it anymore or not.
Hardy narrated that McMahon said, “‘Bray, why didn’t you do that spider walk? What’s wrong with you? You’re not in shape, can you not do it anymore?’ He really laid into him and then he said, ‘You’re not even playing the gimmick'”.
Vince McMahon is the executive chairman of WWE. However, he is currently away from the company, as he has taken a medical leave of absence in order to recover from a spinal surgery he previously underwent.
Did Vince McMahon hate Bray Wyatt?
McMahon’s and Wyatt’s names have popped up together quite a few times in WWE. Though several reports claimed that Vince didn’t like Wyatt, no concrete evidence can be drawn for this fact.
Previously, Matt Hardy explained the relationship between Wyatt and Vince and stated that they had a very strange relationship. He claimed that he felt Wyatt was like a son to McMahon.
He further mentioned that McMahon would love Wyatt when he did something, according to the WWE boss. However, if he did something that McMahon disliked, he would punish and insult Wyatt.
Now we will never know what kind of relationship Wyatt and McMahon shared since Bray Wyatt is no longer among us. The WWE Superstar passed away due to a heart attack on August 24, 2023, at the young age of 36 years.
Whether Vince McMahon hated or loved Bray will always remain a mystery. However, he is surely loved by his fans and the entire wrestling world and will always be remembered and loved.
