SUMMARY
- CM Punk and Serena Deeb were a part of the Straight Edge Society in WWE.
- The Best In the World and Serena Deeb's first meeting took place in 2005
Despite being a professional in the pro wrestling industry for over 25 years, CM Punk is still one of the biggest draws in the world. The Best In the World is best known for his WWE run and has been involved in some historic storylines in the promotion.
Not just because of his rivalries with fellow stars, Punk also remained in the talks due to his love life. The 46-year-old legend is married to AJ Lee, but due to his active involvement in romantic angles on the TV screen, he has been always involved in dating rumors with different female performers in the promotion.
One such name is All Elite Wrestling star, Serena Deeb, as she was a part of the Best In the World’s Straight Edge Society. Due to their chemistry on the screen, a huge part of the WWE universe believed them to be dating in real life. But there wasn’t any truth behind this rumor.
Both CM and Deeb had some memorable moments during their association as stablemates, but there was nothing romantic between them. The two were great friends, as they knew each other even before being put into a faction, but they weren’t in a relationship. So, it’s safe to say that them being real-life lovers was nothing more than a hyped rumor.
When did CM Punk and Serena Deeb first meet?
Even though Punk and Serena have never dated each other, they’ve known each other for nearly two decades. Deeb’s first meeting with The Straight Edge Superstar was in 2005, as the 6-foot-1 was still a rising name in the pro wrestling world. At that time, the Best In the World was signed to WWE and used to work for the company’s developmental territory, OVW.
While working in Ohio Valley Wrestling, he was being mentored by Paul Heyman. Talking about her relationship with Phil Brooks in an interview with Wrestling Inc, the AEW star revealed the importance of Punk in her professional career.
She said, “We have a great relationship. We obviously go back a long way. We did some really good business together over the years. From Shimmer that got me to Ring of Honor. So Punk really guided me and really helped support me and getting to all these places before WWE.” (Via: 411MANIA)
Serena had a great bond with Brooks, and that helped them work exceptionally well during their run under The Straight Edge Society. Even though it’s been a decade since the group disbanded, but they are still remembered by the fans.
With Punk back in the WWE now and Deeb currently working in AEW, it seems a bit difficult for them to be working together in the future. But who knows if we’ll get to see this happen in the Triple H-led promotion? If it really happens, fans will surely love their association.
