The SAG-AFTRA strike finally coming to an end has opened the gates of Hollywood for the stars, including Dwayne Johnson. However, this is not the only space that he has his eyes on. In a recent podcast, The Jumanji star also addressed his candidature run for the President.
The Rock recently graced the set of the What’s Now podcast by Trevor Noah. He has received massive fan support for his probable campaign to which, Dwayne revealed that numerous political parties extended their arms in welcoming The Great One. “At the end of the year in 2022, I got a visit from the parties asking me if I was going to run and if I could run,” he revealed.

The poll results came in his favour and gave Dwayne Johnson a shock. Further, these “parties” made it all the more shocking. “It was a big deal, and it came out of the blue,” he claimed. “They also brought up their own deep-dive research that would prove that should I ever go down that road [I’d be a real contender],” he added, talking about the pitches made by the parties.
However, The Rock seemed to put an end to his candidature for the President with a few statements. “It was all very surreal because that’s never been my goal. My goal has never been to be in politics,” he revealed. Dwayne Johnson also confessed that there was a lot about the world of politics that he despised.
Was a Presidential run ever on Dwayne Johnson’s list?
Dwayne Johnson, following in the footsteps of Donald Trump, first came to light in 2017, when he hyped up the fans with the possibility of the same. In an interview with Variety, Dwayne Johnson first spoke of how the rumor received heat and spread like a wildfire. “One day … I can impact the world through politics. The great news is I am American, therefore I can become President,” said Dwayne Johnson to GQ once.
“Realistically, as we go into 2018, when you look at my slate as we’re developing and shooting into 2019 and 2020, the slate goes deep into 2021, so it feels like the realistic consideration would be 2024,” he claimed back in 2017. Dwayne also seemed quite inclined towards considering working for the people. But soon, he turned away from the plan.
$400 million rich comedian supports Dwayne Johnson running for Presidency
Apart from the fans, there are many celebrities who want The Rock in the White House. In an episode of Agree to Disagree by LADbible TV, the comic duo of Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart graced the stage. Amidst multiple topics, the team discussed The Rock’s probable Presidential run.
More than anyone else, his closest friend, Kevin Hart, was completely down with his idea. “I think he is more than capable of doing whatever he puts his mind to. That’s why I’m over on that side,” he said. However, now, Kevin Hart’s dream too comes to a crash.
What did Dwayne Johnson say about running for the President?
It’s been a long time since the news of Dwayne Johnson running for the President went mainstream. When the news could stretch no further, Dwayne Johnson decided to address it. He put an end to all the speculations, saying that the thought was “off the table,” of which he had been 100% sure in the past.
Apart from being a global figure, Dwayne Johnson is a father and this eventually pushed him to the backseat. “That’s the most important thing to me is being a daddy, number one, especially during this time, this critical time in my daughters’ lives,” he said.

The Rock was so engrossed in his professional life that he hardly had any time for his first daughter. As a result, he missed seeing her grow. He ensured not to repeat the same yet again and thus, putting his daughters first, he backed off from the run for the President. This thought seems to have absorbed the Black Adam star, and his latest comments, too, revolve around the same conclusion.
