Nia Jax is truly one of the biggest beasts when it comes to the world of WWE. Various Women have entered the squared circle, but none of them is as ruthless as Nia. She has been an irresistible force over the years and is seen as a true threat to her opponents. Whether it’s injuring other wrestlers with her fierce moves or his unmatched persona, Jax has always delivered.
Savelina Fanene, who is known professionally as Nia Jax, was born in 1984 in Sydney, Australia. Since her NXT days, she has truly been an irresistible force in the company. Apart from her Powerhouse fighting style, she was also called an ‘unsafe’ worker. She earned the nickname due to her risky fighting style, which injured a lot of wrestlers in real life.
Jax was born into a Samoan family and was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her father, Joseph Fanene, is of Samoan ancestry, being the cousin of Peter Maivia. Peter is also the grandfather of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, which connects Nia with The Brahma Bull. Nia’s mother, Renate Fanene, is of German ancestry, which makes Jax of Samoan and German descent.

Nia Jax pursued her college degree at Cal State University, completing her degree in marketing. Apart from her interest in pro wrestling, she practiced Judo, Karate, kickboxing, and basketball. She was highly involved in playing basketball during her college days. Before getting herself into the wrestling business, she also worked as a plus-size model.
Nia Jax’s relationship with Roman Reigns
The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns, also descends from a Samoan background and is also related to The Rock. While Jax and Roman’s relationship is not direct, they both share Samoan heritage. They share a distant family connection, with Nia being Dwayne’s second cousin and Reigns being in a different branch of the family through his father.
Both of them reside in different branches of the Anoa’i Dynasty, making them blood siblings. Nia Jax‘s in-ring style and performance also make her a true Samoan, just like her cousins. She has also touched the gold a couple of times during her career, including a RAW Women’s Title and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship two times in her career.
With such a highly decorated career, she looks to add more to her arsenal each week. She has had several high-profile rivalries with Shayna Baszler, Alexa Bliss, and various other top-tier stars. Her existence proves to be a threat for various women in the WWE which can never be stopped.
