At WrestleMania 39, the WWE Universe got to see a classic match between three top stars, Gunther, Sheamus, and Drew McIntyre, for the Intercontinental championship. From hard-hitting action to crowd involvement, the match was arguably the best match of the night.
Since then, The Scottish Psychopath has been off-air. It’s been said that he has been given rest following his injuries so he can recover aptly. Consequently, his contract with WWE is also going to expire soon.

Over the last few months, there have been several reports about Drew McIntyre being unhappy with his booking and the plans the creative team has for him. However, the former WWE champion has yet to address the issue publicly.
On the first night of the WWE draft, he was picked by Raw. Thus, he’ll be performing at the Red Brand after almost three years of working with Smackdown, where he gave numerous bangers against Imperium and The Brawling Brutes.
No other WWE Champion had to endure the complete unknown Drew McIntyre was thrust into upon winning his first WWE Title.
He was a strong Champion who carried his position with pride and great dignity. He delivered when others would have faltered.

On last week’s Raw, Triple H also announced that superstars on Red Brand are eligible to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Hence, McIntyre can possibly be the one to lift the prestigious gold if the creative department plans so.
Is Drew McIntyre leaving WWE?
The speculations about a possible departure for The Scottish Psychopath are currently blooming. As reported by Fightful, his contract is expected to expire in early 2024, before WrestleMania, but the report also says that Drew McIntyre is currently clueless about the situation.
It’s also revealed that there are ‘miscommunications’ between him and the company. Thus, the creative department has been pitching him a return as a heel at RAW but again, nothing is confirmed.
Another major reason behind Drew McIntyre being doubtful is WWE‘s recent sale to Endeavor. Not only McIntyre, but many WWE superstars are also unsure about how the deal with Endeavor will affect them.
However, another report of him being pulled out of WWE’s Money in the Bank advertisement and being replaced by Roman Reigns has raised eyebrows. WWE will look forward to keeping him, however, if he leaves, he’ll find a new home easily.
