Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is undoubtedly one of the biggest faces in the Hollywood Film Industry. He is currently the highest-paid actor and has been giving huge blockbusters since his Hollywood debut back in 2001. The Rock previously made a name for himself while being in the WWE where he gained a huge fanbase and fame through his over-the-edge character.
His screen presence and charisma are unmatched to this day and might never be re-enacted again. Though various personalities were called The Rock’s wannabe, but no one could match his personality. After having a successful career in the WWE, Dwayne made his way to the film industry with his first film being The Mummy Returns. He got various offers from different production houses during his time in Hollywood.
While being on the top of the mountain of the Hollywood Film Industry, The Brahma Bull made a name for himself for his impeccable comic timing and exceptional Action sequences. After giving various BlockBuster movies, Dwayne Johnson still regrets his decision to reject a huge offer he got back in the day.
The Rock was once offered to be a part of the $5 Billion grossing Transformers Franchise which he unfortunately rejected. During that time, he was also part of his action-thriller ‘Hercules‘ and decided to turn down the Transformers offer.
Michael Bay offered me Transformers, but I was unavailable due to Hercules. Then Wahlberg was offered the role. #RockTalk @Nadydi

He was offered the role of Cade Yeager in ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ which would have introduced Dwayne into the franchise. The role was given to Mark Wahlberg and turned out to be a huge box-office success. It got pretty good reactions from the crowd and collected a massive $1.104 Billion worldwide and was declared a BlockBuster.
Dwayne Johnson Took Hercules over Transformers
The Rock has made a lot of interesting choices during his Acting and Professional Wrestling career. These choices have turned out to be both extremely well and sometimes devastating for the Dwayne Johnson. His decision to turn down Transformers might be one of the worst decisions of his acting career. Dwayne focused on Hercules instead which was already delayed due to his injuries.

Hercules turned out to be a hit for Dwayne with a worldwide earning of $244 Million despite Johnson being injured during the shoot of the film. On the other hand, Mark Wahlberg’s Transformers: Age of Extinction earned a whopping $1.104 Billion at the box office. This shows how The People’s Champion missed a huge opportunity to be a bigger name due to some unfortunate decisions.
