CM Punk has had a glorious WWE run. Setting an example, Punk has delivered some of the biggest classics in the ring. Confronting various top names in the division such as John Cena and Daniel Bryan, CM Punk once faced Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in an iconic feud.
Their rivalry hails back to 2013 when CM Punk was the WWE Champion. The Rock was the special guest for RAW 1000. Amongst all the stars present in the division, he was involved in an angle with Punk. Not only did he challenge him for the title at Royal Rumble but also was involved in a physical brawl with the Cookie Master.
The Rock’s action gave birth to the heel character in Punk and he went ahead to thrash the Triple H company’s stars who had stepped into Hollywood. He targeted John Cena and Dwayne Johnson and demanded that the WWE Universe acknowledge his achievements. In the events that followed, the Black Adam star was out of action from Stamford-based promotion and Punk fought many stars such as The Big Show, John Cena, and Ryback.
Eventually, the D-day came and the two rivals finally met in the ring. The only condition attached to the match was that no one must interfere. Despite The Best in the World succeeding in pinning The Rock, Punk was alleged of interference from The Shield. Vince McMahon allowed the two stars to restart the match and eventually, Rock pulled off the match with a win.

CM Punk vs. The Rock was one of the last of the matches that the Cookie Master played under the Stamford-based promotion. Despite going through a lot of character changes, he is able to create a unique personality for himself with some strong character traits.
The Rock once called CM Punk after WWE RAW went off-air
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson had boiling blood for his rivals inside the WWE arena. On February 21, 2017, after Monday Night RAW went off the air, The Rock walked up to the ring. While many from the audience had already exited the arena, the remaining people broke into deafening ‘CM Punk’ chants. Unable to bear it any longer, The Scorpion King star broke his silence.

He picked up his phone and rang CM Punk from inside the ring. However, the latter was not available and didn’t pick up the phone so Dwayne left a voicemail instead. The Hollywood fame had returned to the ring along with Saraya aka Paige for the shooting of Fighting With My Family. Overall, the segment gave the audience a memory that they’d cherish for the rest of their life.
