WrestleMania 39 is in the books as night 2 culminates the Hollywood edition of the marquee event. Brock Lesnar beat Omos in the opening match of the night. Later, Gunther retained his Intercontinental title with a stunning win over Drew McIntyre and Sheamus. Bianca Belair also defended her Raw women’s title successfully against a defiant Asuka. But the attention was on the main event of the night between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.

With The Usos losing their undisputed Tag titles, there were doubts if Roman Reigns will retain his undisputed WWE universal title or not. The Bloodline dominated the WWE bookings the last couple of years. Hence, there was a sense among the fanbase that Roman will finally lose the belt to bring an end to his iconic stable. But, it was not meant to be as Roman retained. However, judging by the reactions, the fans do not seem to appreciate it.
Roman Reigns faces backlash after beating Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39
WrestleMania 39 continued the trend of holding a 2-night event. While the first night had the Usos taking on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, night 2 ended with Roman Reigns beating Cody Rhodes to retain his title. The match was a spectacular one from the start to finish. Interference from both the Bloodline members and the Sami-Kevin duo, to Rhodes paying homage to his father Dusty Rhodes, the match had it all!

But ultimately, thanks to meddling from Solo Sikoa, Roman hit a spear to beat Cody. After the high of Mania 38, where Cody won against Roman’s former teammate Seth Rollins, Mania 39 undoubtedly was a low point in his career. After the match ended, the American nightmare was visibly dejected while making his way to the back. But Cody was not the only one disappointed as the online wrestling community ran riot after the match ended.
Here are some fan reactions on the matter
They took away Cody Rhodes moment to get Roman Reigns over 1,000 days as champ

Roman is still champ??? That’s some bullshit. I can only imagine what the crowd must have been like after that result.

Wouldn’t be a Roman main event without one.
And right after Cody hitting two Cross Rhodes, he just gets Samoan Spike + Spear and loses.
This was just a terrible ending.

After the event, Triple H had a pretty interesting take on the matter. During the post-Mania press conference, he added that the story is not going to end at WrestleMania 39. So there is a chance that Cody gets his revenge down the lane and pins Roman for the belt. But who was the last person to beat Roman Reigns via pinfall? Let’s find out.
Who was the last wrestler to beat the Tribal Chief via pinfall in WWE?
Roman Reigns is not devoid of defeats and has suffered a few losses in the past years. However, since he has become the Tribal Chief, Roman’s record is comparable to prime John Cena. While he has suffered a few DQ losses and tag team losses here are there, Reigns has been near-invincible in terms of singles competition over the past few years.
December 15, 2019 was the last time Roman Reigns was pinned. He was pinned by King Corbin in a TLC match! It has now been 1,000 days since he last got pinned! 🤯 pic.twitter.com/kJIlIa3WHo

The last pinfall loss he suffered was in TLC 2019. Who was the wrestler to beat Roman? It was none other than Baron Corbin. While Baron has faded into obscurity recently, there was a point when WWE was genuinely behind him. Even then, it took interference from Dolph Ziggler for Corbin to hit his finishing move End of Days, and beat Roman via pinfall. Since then, Roman has not been pinned for over 1000 days.
Who will eventually beat Roman? Let us know about your picks in the comments down below.
