Professional wrestling is usually called the industry for tall and muscular individuals, but that’s not the case with former WWE star Hornswoggle. With just 4-foot-5 inches of height, the 37-year-old is one of the smallest guys to ever make a mark in the Stamford-based promotion.
Even though The King Of Small Style is no longer with the Triple H-led promotion, fans still love him. Due to the way he’s missed by the WWE universe, they search for his whereabouts and everything about him. So let’s check who Hornswoggle is, his career background, and where the public figure is in 2024.
Born as Dylan Mark Postl on May 29, 1986, the 4-foot-5 is an American national. The veteran hails from Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and he has been a huge fan of the industry since his childhood. Due to his love pro wrestling, Hornswoggle wanted to be an in-ring star. But he had to face difficulties due to his physicality.
Despite everything he had to go through, Dylan started a backyard promotion with his friends. In 2005, he appeared as “The World’s Sexiest Midget” $hortstack. In fact, he won the NWA Wisconsin X Division Championship. He later captured the SSW Tag Team Championship with Devin Diamond in May 2006, which was a really big for Mark’s professional career.
A look at Hornswoggle’s WWE career
After his success in NWA, The King Of Small Style received a WWE contract. In what was his first ever appearance, the 4-foot-5 star made his debut in a May 2006 SmackDown episode. During his debut, Postl joined Finlay and started working as his sidekick. In his initial days, the 37-year-old was called “Little Bastard,” but it lasted less than a year as he got his new name, “Hornswoggle,” in February 2007.

The King Of Small Style had tag team associations with Finlay as well as his Mr. Kennedy and even had a singles title reign in the Stamford-based promotion. He is a former Cruiserweight Champion, as he won the title at The Great American Bash in 2007. But he was stripped of his championship after just 65 days.
Throughout his career, Mark got to work with legends such as The Great Khali, Vince McMahon, and JBL. He even had a brief run with D-Generation X, but over the years, his use by the WWE started declining. On September 28, 2015, the company announced his suspension for violating the company’s wellness policy, and after a long absence, Postl was released from his contract in May 2016.
Is Hornswoggle still active in 2024?
After a decade-long run with the Triple H-led promotion, Hornswoggle’s WWE run ended in 2016. But the 4-foot-5 pro wrestling figure straight away made a comeback to the independent circuit as Swoggle. On April 27, 2018, the former WWE star made a special appearance at the Greatest Royal Rumble event, and in a similar way, he was seen at next year’s Royal Rumble PLE.
Over the years, Mark also made some appearances in Impact Wrestling. It was in this organization in November 2020 when he dressed as AJ Styles, referring to himself as “AJ Swoggle.” Moreover, he made cameos in Ring of Honor and All Elite Wrestling, which were just one off.
Despite fans’ love, Hornswoggle hinted at his retirement during a June 2023 interview with Inside The Ropes. In the conversation, Postl said, “Not that I know of. I mean, I would love to, but in-ring probably is behind me, if I’m being honest with myself after my second failed back surgery. It ain’t in the cards, I don’t believe [I will compete] in-ring for a major company.” (Via: ATLELIFO)
As the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion revealed that his best days are behind him, it seems that he won’t be seen competing in the Triple H-led promotion. If that’s the case, the fans will still be happy if he makes a backstage appearance in the company. Will The Little Bastard be seen in the Stamford-based promotion ever again? Only the future knows the answer to this.
